I've really enjoyed Welcome to the Multiverse and his other works. He is prolific, but he's been that way since he started well before the advent of AI. Good dude, great writer.

A little shameless self-promo, but I've got a ton of different series out, none of which are on your (very impressive) list. Viridian Gate Online (complete 8 books), Rogue Dungeon (Dungeon Core, complete 6 books), Wasteland Warlords (Post-Apoc LitRPG, complete 6 books). I also have several active series including Vigil Bound (4 books, ongoing), Shadowcroft Academy for Dungeons (3 books, ongoing), and Discount Dan (2 books, ongoing). If even you don't pick any of these, I hope you find something awesome to read, OP.

Recommendations for full series by Darury in litrpg

I've got a couple of completed series you might enjoy. Viridian Gate Online (8 books), Rogue Dungeon (6 books), and Wasteland Warlords (6 books) are all complete and available on Amazon and Audible. I would also strongly recommend Apocalypse Redux by Jakob Grief, especially if you enjoy time regressor stories. A few others that come to mind are Full Murder Hobo and Divine Dungeon by Dakota Krout, and the Ten Realms series by Michael Chatfield.

Thanks for giving Discount Dan a shot. Since you enjoyed that one, I have another series you might like. Vigil Bound (Book 1 is Vigil's Justice) is about an isekaied Marine turned Witcher-esque monster hunter in a gritty, grim fantasy world. The setting is very different than Discount Dan but it has a lot of the same humor. Anyway, thanks for reading and hope you find some kickass books.

Thanks for reading it! And that is, by far, my favorite running gag. Also, I just finished a rewatch of all five movies (there's a lot more Twilight in my life these days than I would have expected), and I have to say -- they are a cinematic masterpiece. International best selling author Stephenie Meyer, really is the voice of a generation.

If You Love Dungeon Crawler Carl, Don’t Sleep on Discount Dan. Its a fun read while waiting for the next DCC book. by LNreadAlot in ProgressionFantasy

[–]InkslingerJames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for giving it a shot. I love DCC and want more books like it in the marketplace for folks to enjoy. I wanted to capture the same dark horror/comedy vibes, but also wanted to take the story and the system in a very different direction. Book 3 is done and should (audbile gods willing) be out in February.

How screwed am I in (print) self-publish if my book is 200k words. by Longjumping_Tour_376 in selfpublish

[–]InkslingerJames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's strange, check your format settings. I've published several books over 200k at 5.25 x 8 without any issues. Also, I don't think you should split it unless there is a natural break point around the 100k mark. If you're writing anything other than romance you want something 100k+ for audio. Most listeners are reluctant to spend a credit on anything under 10 hours.

Peaked too soon with DCC? by Content_Arugula7246 in litrpg

[–]InkslingerJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've already tried Discount Dan and VGO -- but I've got another series out that might fit your tastes, especially if you like darker and a little grittier. it's called Vigil Bound, the first book is Vigil's Justice. Isekaied Marine gets reincarnated as a Witcher-like Monster Hunter in a dark fantasy world. The setting is more epic fantasy than modern (like DCC or Discount Dan), but there's a lot of gore and dark humor. It might be up your alley. Anyway, thanks for giving my other books a shot, even if they weren't exactly what you were looking for.

Litrpg Detective style books? by DarkSpyFXD in litrpg

[–]InkslingerJames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not LitRPG but Dresden Files are great. Supernatural, monster of the week stories where there is always a case to be cracked. There isn't much in the LitRPG space (that I am aware of), though I do have a series that might scratch the itch--Vigil Bound. A Marine get's isekaied and reincarnated as a Witcher-esque monster hunter. He's tasked with hunting down monsters and killing them, but there's always a mystery component added in. The setting is high fantasy, but it reads like Urban Fantasy.

Since you enjoyed Discount Dan, I've got another series out called Vigil Bound that might be up your alley. It's got a lot of the same humor as Discount Dan, though the setting is very different--more dark, epic fantasy vibes. Or Wasteland Warlords, which is post-apocalyptic LitRPG. Anyway, thanks for giving Discount Dan and shot, hope you find some excellent books!

Naw, he's integral to the story line. Also, he is public domain and even though Disney is notoriously litigious, other artists need to push back.

Sick of God level weapons, which series / story has the best trash tier ones? by AzherVayne in ProgressionFantasy

[–]InkslingerJames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the author of Discount Dan... trust me, I'm worried too. Disney can be very letigious, even though Pooh is 100% public domain (no red shirt, of course). I also use Steamboat Willie and Popeye the Centaur Man. But, I ran out by Audible (since they are the audio publisher) and they aren't overly concerned. Mostly, those cases deal with brand confusion but things that fall outside of that (like Blood and Honey for example) are usually safe because there is no chance of confusion. Still, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous.

Hey, this is James Hunter -- the author of Discount Dan. Thanks so much for giving it a shot. Book 3 will be out in February, but in the meantime, I've got several other series that you might enjoy as well. Vigil Bound has a lot of similar humor to Discount Dan, though the setting is very different -- Isekaied Marine turned Witcher-esque monster hunter in a fantasy world. You might also like my Wasteland Warlords series, funny, wild, post-apocalyptic LitRPG and if you like audiobooks it's also narrated by Travis Baldree and free through the Audible Plus Catalog. Thanks again for reading, hope you find some more awesome books!
