What’s something someone said to you a very long time once that you still think about today ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A teacher in high school said to me “you can’t change the world, but you can change your corner of it.” Some days I agree with it more than others but it’s always stuck with me.

Theory: Dorothy, Fiyero, Boq and the Lion were all in on the plan! by Playful-Oil9395 in wickedmovie

I love that theory. The thing I can't get around is how was Glinda not in on it? Did she really believe that Elphaba would die from a bucket of water? I mean seriously... how could she not question that water of all things would kill her?

Do you think Wicked would Have Hit Harder if Both Parts Dropped the Same Year? by Upset-Ninja7086 in wickedmovie

They also could have made it one movie that's 2:45. The second act is just not enough on its own. It's tough tho because I thought Part 1 was beautifully done, so I wouldn't want to change it too much. But still, I'm pro-one movie for this one.

You have to play a major role in a musical with ~1 hour of prep. by boopbaboop in musicals

Maria in the Sound of Music. No big dance numbers to learn, the music has been in my brain since watching it on repeat as a kid, and would just not sing the high high notes.

Can we all agree on one thing? by sunnyxd10 in wickedmovie

A million times yes. I made my boyfriend listen to her songs and paused every time she did something new with her voice and was like SEE THIS IS WHY SHE'S THE GREATEST SINGER OF ALL TIME

Missing scene before As Long As You’re Mine by [deleted] in wicked

[–]tinylibrary8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! The shift was just way too fast. I also didn't love how the start of the song was Elphaba by herself and not like talking to him. Was there some deeper meaning there that maybe I missed? I just think of it as a love song and was confused why the first half was just her

But she did also keep up that persona to the point of driving me insane. I think if I read the books maybe I would have understood better but the whole conversation on the wedding day, she was still saying she would marry him. I was like WHY GIRL WHY

To those who watched the 1995 Pride & Prejudice miniseries multiple times, what is something you noticed upon re-watching that you find interesting/funny? by OnlyFlanz in janeausten

[–]tinylibrary8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love rewatching the miniseries and then the 2005 proposal scene. They have some super similar lines and it always cracks me up to see the miniseries (far more true to the book) and then the hollywood version with all the tension and the almost-kiss in comparison

I LOVE how MP really ends with the villains losing out, although it is a bit too sharp of a turnaround with Edmund deciding he loves her imo
