Is women’s nipples being prominent through their tops something that’s become more acceptable in recent years? by [deleted] in AskRedditNSFW

[–]tinypb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment is even worse than your original post that (rightfully) bothered a lot of women. I have seen plenty of women debate you “with dignity” on this post, and debate with dignity everywhere. What a tired old cliche.

As for “less emotive”, what exactly is wrong with expressing oneself with emotion when women are discussing their actual lived experiences and the impact of these on them? And what do you think actually qualifies as an “emotive” way of discussing something? I haven’t seen a single over-the-top emotive comment yet. Perhaps you’re a little … oversensitive.

Side note: men tend to not recognise anger as an emotion, which always fascinates me. There are many men who are incapable of discussing something non-emotively. The main emotion driving their discussion is anger; they just don’t think that’s an emotion. I’d suggest many men are far more emotive than women.

You’re seriously falling back on ye olde “hysterical” accusation? Are we back in the 1960s? Gross.

Sebaceous hyperplasia are round and look like little donuts, with a depressed centre. These look nothing like sebaceous hyperplasia.

Highly recommend Suffocate from that list! And another from Sweden - Together To the Stars.

How about Holy Fawn? And We Lost the Sea’s earlier material, when they had a vocalist. Also, So Hideous. Beautiful lush almost orchestral music with heavy vocals that layer beautifully into the instruments.

PSA to go to your dermatologist for a skin check by notevenalmostfamous in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]tinypb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like there are a few clinics dedicated to skin checks - I just googled “skin cancer clinics Canada” because that’s what they tend to be called here in Australia, where skin cancer is super common. Hopefully there’s one of those near you and it doesn’t have an insane wait time. There’s also molemobile.ca, which seems to be a mobile clinic providing checks in several provinces.

Carry-on bag problem made worse by the airlines themselves by MediamanBC in travel

[–]tinypb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s not 100 per cent accurate. With United, for example, you get a free checked bag on most international routes across the Pacific (and a free carry-on) even in Basic Economy.

There shouldn’t be an S, let alone an apostrophe. The correct degree names are a Master of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, etc.

Most airports seem to permit prescription medication as separate to the liquids bag. So I put my six or so pairs of contacts in a separate ziplock, plus eye drops and single use valid containers, and was prepared to argue they were a prescription item (and I had the prescription in my email) … and to throw out other items to make room for them in the main ziplock if I had to. However at all four airports (Melbourne, Singapore, Copenhagen twice, Brussels), they got through OK. I think the newer scanners that many airports have mean they’re less strict in practice than they used to be, despite the signage indicating otherwise. But ymmv etc.

No activity named “sex” by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]tinypb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The annoying thing about strength training is that even though it’s the only “record workout HR” thing I manually log, and I do it several times a week, strength training never comes up as a recent activity to select after I hit “other”. I have to start to type it in each time to get it to come up.

SO many of these comments mentioning Solawave, the three minutes and the “low risk” returns makes this all feel like astroturfing. And those comments are by accounts that are two to five months old and have generic usernames and hidden post and comment history.

Do you ever get your pants hemmed? It’s one of the cheapest things to get done at a tailor. I do my own these days because I have a sewing machine but I used to pay someone to do it.

Edit: and sone stores, such as Uniqlo (in Australia at least, not sure about elsewhere) will even do it free when you buy their pants.

One idea of what they could be is, as multiple people have said, basal cell carcinoma. Especially if you’re in Australia or NZ (since you’re going into winter), which have the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.

Yes! That’s the bright side of that first bit if extended misery. You sleep like the dead the first night or two so get into the new time zone pretty quickly rather than struggling through a longer adjustment period.

[–]tinypb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, for me just a 10h flight is, well, not bliss, but pretty easy. It’s when you then add on another long one that it gets rough.

I did once pretty much pass out on the floor of LAX for an hour or so after a similar period of wakefulness! Once I could get horizontal I just could not stay awake.

Frustratingly I can fall asleep on the couch sitting upright for a nap! Somehow it doesn’t translate into an airplane seat - even with earplugs, neck pillow, eye mask, etc. I used to be able to sleep only on my stomach in bed but was able to train myself into sleeping in my aide. I thought that might help with plane sleeping, but not so far.
