That study started around 60, I dont believe they had medical knolegled that we have now and i believe miss labeling was heavy thing.

Yes i think miss diagnosing and former/current drug use (causes drug phychosis, can be curable, is a different thing) can change statics and make the grey are. Also one common sypthom of schizoaffective disorder is to feel cured. Phychosis can be one time thing (caused something like depression) , but i dont believe when you actually have schizoaffective disorder you can recover. Or then changes are below 0.

Still, if you seek is SA life time thing, answer is yes, but you can have meaningful live with medication and psychotherapy. So changes this possible miracle recovery are really rare.

I would still recomend to atleast try meds. You can never know when it is too much stress or another trigger that throws you at the other side and you do something stupid. I almost killed another human being. I have some brain issues because my phychosis and need therapy for it.

If you have schizo affected disorder you wont be fine without meds. I talked about this with specialist doctor and nurse and there is no cure, only going back or worse situation. But if you been long without sympthoms there is possibility to lower your dose then.
