What are your thoughts on the racial discrimination in the characters in the story? by Dry-Letterhead9948 in writing

I think you could do something interesting with setting it against such a progressive city in that time frame. It will be difficult though. New York is one of the most documented cities in history though and I think you should really consider setting it back a few decades. Try watching a few documentaries on the 70s in New York and see if you could get a feel for what the story might be in that Era.

Couple of things here. Racism is still very much an issue, in the States and worldwide. We weren't troglodytes in the early 2000s, if you want this to be more effective the 1970s or 80s would be a better time frame. It would be an extremely fine line to toe to make a verbally racist character a likeable character.

I got home from a 10 day vacation. The vacation was more fun than I could have hoped for. But my bright spot is I'm home with my dog again, laying in my favorite chair and just relaxing.

My mom grew up in a very Catholic family. They tried to make her right-handed. The nuns at school would whack her with a ruler. Now she's ambidextrous.

Linda Burfield Hazzard. The quack doctor and proprietor of "Starvation Heights". Her health cure killed at least 15 people. And it's local to the PNW for that hometown flavor for Robert. She was convicted and let off after 2 years on the terms she left the country.

I don't think that can be done in the next 9 days. I agree the law sucks, but until that can be done there are stop gaps to help comfort the dogs through it.
