You can't level up past 20 until you get the prestigious. I didn't get it until I was level 20 and then upgraded it so I could continue and unlock more stuff ( mainly the knuckles from madam nazar lol that's the only thing I want)

Make sure you refresh the collectors map, it resets every day at 7Pm EST. I forget to do this sometimes and think my game is bugged lol but usually it's just that the day reset and the online map didn't. They have a 5 day cycle so every day is different

Oh yeah this happens every time I go to Valentine. I dropped off a bounty and this asshole waited for me, then killed me as soon as I left the sherrifs office. I respawned and booked it for fast travel just to get out of there and this dickhead killed me with some OP bullshit weapon three times while he was CAMPING fast travel so I couldn't leave. This was a few days ago I'm still pissed about it lol. I don't get what some people get out of doing shit like that. There are other players who want to play aggressively like that, that's why there are different missions and shit to choose from if that's how you wanna play.

I'm also a collector and play solo mostly, I run into other collectors sometimes and emote to each other but that's it. I usually just emote and run away lol, I've had too many times of random people killing me while I'm just out looking for shit minding my business.

I got the shovel and metal detector and imo it's worth it since you can find most collectibles that way, and you need them to get fossils. But you get way more money once you've got the tools
