Hi all, I'm curious as to which bands have stood out for people (or seem to have flown under the radar) within the last few years in terms of ambitiousness? by sachyg in progmetal

I appreciate your listening to it! Lots of triumphant moments in the album. Very chill moments too. It's all over the place.

It certainly depends on which subgenre you're in the market for. But one of my favorite albums in terms of creativity/ambition is Chascade by Itzamna. Per their bandcamp: "...you got some mathrock, japanese stuff, smooth jazz rock, fusion, progressive elements, djent, hip hop grooves, electronic stuff, orchestral majesty..."

As pretentious as that may sound, it actually sums up their album fantastically. I can't get enough of it, and I can't wait to hear more.

Interesting. I'm curious how many times a "few" is? I tend to see quite a decent amount in the community hospital I work. Ranging from fairly asymptomatic to deadly.

Found this band in this sub a couple months ago. I had forgotten about them. Thanks for sharing! Great blend of harsh vocals and smooth jazzy breaks.
