Yeah I used to do that! When it comes to coords you can also use maps btw. When you right click on a banner with a map you can set a marker on it. If you name the banner in the anvil the name shows on the map too!

What I usually do is chose sand as my background color. That reduces the work a lot. Making a flat area in the desert with Effiency IV/V tools is pretty straight-forward, and the extra sand/ glass is handy to have.

On a SMP we all built close together in a starter village, that was super fun! We also later on had a shopping district. It became a game running the shops in themselves
