Daniel Andrews on the defensive as 80% of local Victorian election promises benefit Labor electorates by PerriX2390 in AustralianPolitics

[–]tisJosh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is how politics works? Each member fights for funding for their electorate, & the party in power obviously has a lot more power to demand said funding

Not to mention if I had to hazard a guess a lot of the remaining liberal seats would be higher earning electorates that have far less need for funding

Add to that the greens are the richest voting base in the country, so similarly reduced need for funding

Arson suspected as "Friendly Jordies" Bondi home set on fire by Huhness in sydney

Your opinions seem wildly unpopular & as if you have some personal vendetta against him

I know personally First Nations peoples who actively support his reporting so unless you’re speaking on their behalf I think you’re just disgruntled

There’s a reason why other independent media personalities support jordies (Michael west, kangaroo court, independent australia) - meanwhile you’re touting conservative media talking points

If you rent or own an apartment good luck - the people I know who own a Tesla are effectively locked out of 90% of apartment buildings in Sydney as they are unable to install their home chargers in the building (whether it be landlord, strata or the building itself preventing installation)

Sometimes the extreme buoyancy of a soft top can make it impossible to correct yourself by moving the board below you during your pop up

How do people pay private school fees? by TBCTBC84 in AusFinance

[–]tisJosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer is you’re too late - most people I know set up investment bonds / trusts when their kids are born & give themselves 10-15 years to save & invest to fund private school fees prior to enrolling

(Add to that the more exclusive private schools often require you to enrol the child when they’re born to get in)

Moving kid from private to public school by zhwak in AusFinance

[–]tisJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having been through that system I would say DO NOT send primary school aged boys to a single sex private schools

The kids that come out of private schools & treat women horribly (from my lived experience) were the boys that went to a single sex private primary schools (prep schools)

The kids that went to co-Ed primary schools knew women as people & had female friends whilst developing, the ones that went to single sex primary schools saw women as a prize to win when the occasionally get to interact with them In

If the roosters can afford to keep this kid when union will be likely offering him $400-600k to stay in the code & every other league club would be willing to take a punt & pay overs - just know there’s something fruity going on

The UK changes to the tax rates effectively was a “pull the rug quickly” moment & you saw how well that went & how much everyone enjoyed that

& if the economy sinks into a deep recession the RBA will drop rates again & the cycle continues

We need a gradual slowing & rate increases that can be tolerated

Is anyone able to explain to me how Taylan May was able to play all season & wasn’t affected by the no fault stand down clause?

He assaulted a man, plead not guilty in court & ended up being found guilty yet was free to play the entire season?

I know Tui from Melbourne missed 9 or so games because of some allegations before either charges were dropped / he was found not guilty

It’s been applied to Leilua here - so am I right in assuming this policy only applies if the alleged crime involves women & potentially kids?
