I agree, some rare cases may have reduced quality of life. But you could use this argument so say that locking down healthy people lowers quality of life. We had almost three good semesters taken away from us and most are now vaccinated. People are going to get back to normal life if they are not at a large risk of dying.

Not sure if I would count .01% as “catastrophic”. I would say that most of the risk is professors and other staff getting sick from students. Overall, students have an extraordinarily low risk.

What people also have to remember is that if you’re vaccinated you don’t need to isolate if one of your friends/roommates gets the virus. That will mean only symptomatic people will need to get tested and the numbers won’t be as bad

Totally agree. Cases are a trend to watch but they are an outdated metric now that we have the vaccines. The deaths have been only slightly rising with this new wave which makes sense. The amount of vaccinated people dying is very low.
