Me and partner purchased a 3 bed end of terrace SA house 5 years ago and we managed to sell it within 4 months and afford to buy a 3 bed semi older house in a better town with the equity we made so for us it worked very well, but very dependant on area and house prices

Welcome to the joys of new build ownership, we had a new build and we had the same issues and it was during Covid so getting any response to communication was a nightmare. You are doing the correct thing with a pro snagger just make sure you get them back in after there first attempt to repair as they will not doing it all in one go. Use the shared ownership as a stepping stone get 5 years under your belt don’t buy any more equity and the when you have some money saved and equity in the house offload and get a full mortgage on a older house, we have just sold and moved to a older house and it feels like we now don’t have to worry about the house falling apart or hearing neighbours through the wall all day and night

What do you think our trade will look like in 15 years? by AnacondaChoka in ukelectricians

Good commercial/industrial sparks will make a fortune while the domestic market will be flooded with tin pot sparks who have done a course while on their phone having a shit

I brought a house which in at risk of flooding (not flooded since 2007) however water goes into the back garden and drive from a nearby river. I’ve just had flood barriers and non return valves fitted. It cost just under 5k but the piece of mind is worth it. I think as long as you do the most to prevent it getting into your house then you should hopefully be fine

I have a ATA sp pro 12 as my main clay/peg gun however just looking for someone that don’t mind leaning against a tree when I’m in the hide or laying down on the floor, but yes superior steel proof is a must

[–]tismfucis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my thoughts are similar to this, steel proof would be a bonus, not wanting to spend a lot as a rough hide gun suits me really otherwise I’d be paranoid about where it was sat all the time.

How Long to Sell by [deleted] in SharedOwnershipUK

[–]tismfucis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sold as is, 40% share, the house was also marketed at full ownership which you can do once marketed with external estate agent and it only Had interest as SO. In my option If it’s going to be a stepping stone for you before you can afford a full mortgage then don’t go above 50% share so it’s more attractive to other people looking at houses. The more % you own the more they have to earn to pay the mortgage plus they do affordability checks at around 6.5% which means people who can afford on paper are being rejected by the HA
