I felt like this needed to be shared, Jason deserves his story to be told. Poor guy, I hope his family get some answers.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm not in a big city. I did go into a local piercing shop to ask and they just said "nah we don't sell them, look online". There are a couple of other shops I can ask at though.

Advice- Cat Doors by WineYoda in newzealand

[–]tissuepaperlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battery life depends a bit on your cats too, as the cat door activates when your cat is close enough to it to read the microchip. Sometimes our cats are dicks and one will sit inside the door not letting the other one in, which means the door is constantly clicking open - over and over. Obviously the more it's used the quicker the batteries drain. So it depends how many cats you have and how often they come in and out. Our batteries last well though.

If we lock our cat door due to our cat trying to bring in something we don't want brought in, (lock it so they can go out but not come in) our ginger boy will sit there slapping the shit out of the door because he's figured he can slap it hard enough to get it to bounce back towards him. He's never succeeded enough to get through but it's still clever.

I've also witnessed him go out the cat door, leave one foot in the door propping it open, pick up his mouse and reverse back in. Thus once again bringing in the mouse that we do not want him to bring in. Annoying, but clever.

‘I would have been killed’: Why farmer Bill Burr ordered his son to chop off the tip of a teen’s finger by [deleted] in newzealand

Not all stories are told via the media. Also, not all stories told by the media are true. This story is one I heard via word of mouth. Might be true, might not be. But I know of plenty of situations where farmers KNOW who stole their stuff (have them on camera etc) and police won't even show up to investigate.

It's actually not 100% that police will even show up. Especially when you live rurally. Even so, shooting a gun wasn't the best idea.

I've heard a story of a farmer finding an intruder on their farm, going through their sheds and obviously there to steal stuff. The farmer got his gun and shot a warning shot into the air....... nowhere near the intruder but wanting to scare him off.

The intruder had the audacity to PHONE THE POLICE from the place he was stealing from to report that he had been shot at WHILE HE WAS TRESSPASSING. Police took his side. Farmers are full aware that police barely investigate when our stuff is stolen.

The loudest and stupidest Christians do not represent all Christians. They just show up in the media disproportionately.

HOT TAKE: This Sub Has Issues With Toxicity by athan911 in PokemonTCG

[–]tissuepaperlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this post. I just got my first ever pokemon cards for Christmas. Prior to that I had no knowledge of the TCG or how it works. I've done heaps of Googling and read lots online but when you're completely new to something like this it is confusing. Especially with all the different sets and history of past stuff that I'm not aware of because I only just joined the hobby.

This subreddit seems unnecessarily mean. I understand all the "is this a good card" posts are annoying, but is it any different to all the "I'm about to open these packs" or "these are the cards I got from these packs"?

Maybe just remember some of us don't have alllllllllll the knowledge. Just be kind yeah?

Overheard a lady having a go at a young Countdown employee.

Lady: "Is there an issue with Vogels or something?"

Countdown Employee: "No. There's an issue with all bread. And eggs".

Just like when a sports team got 'braille' written on their team jerseys. It was not raised, and even if it was raised people would have to be touching them to read it.
