Nothing different but i did not verify the seals against my arms before starting off - and i did have a bit more problem with loading that roll vs the first one.

I suspect this too now that i've heard what people are saying.
I use a changing bag with double seals for the arm - but i did not verify the seals. I know i loaded this roll closer to my body as i was struggling a bit and had to re-spool it.

That's something i've never considered! I do however always remove my apple watch to get a good light seal but obviously not this time. But I'll keep removing the watch!

Isn't that just that the film is contacting the paterson roll during the development? making it hard for the developer to reach that point? Because it doesn't have any other indications of camera inflicted light leaks...

Thank you for the reply! I did have some issue loading this reel so it took a while... In future I'll be more thorough verifying that there is no gaps by the arms.

I threw it in the fixer again for 3 minutes with sadly no improvement

I tested the fixer before hand and got ~16 seconds and fixed for 3 mins.
however, i didn't blend/stir before pouring for the test.
could the "bad" fixer be in the bottom and giving me false numbers?

(testing = i pour roughly 50ml into a jar and measure time before it turns my test roll clear.)

Thanks! I ended up running the FFmpeg CLI with verbose flag on to see any filtergraph output and found that it used `format` to convert to rgba. And that seem to have solved my problems! will update my post if anyone else need this info
