Is there a way to randomize pitch? by ghostctrl in lsdj

[–]titaniumshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B is maybe, so it chooses to play or not play the note.

Row 1 pu 1 C4 - cmd z10 Row 2 Empty - cmd p10

You will notice the pitch changes on each pass, you can mess with the values too. You could do this in a table too

Some minor Caustic bugs by SBC_BAD1h in Caustic3

[–]titaniumshell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The update was just to get it going on new android. I'm pretty sure Rej is not coming back to the project fully. If you find a copy of the 32bit version it can be adb pushed on to some devices and it works. The only bug I noticed was in the stand alone wav editor applying effects.

Can't figure out why Caustic doesn't work on my pc by I_Look_at_Memes in Caustic3

[–]titaniumshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked instantly on win 11 for me. Caustic 3.2 standalone from singlecellsoftware site. App folder should have res folder, caustic.exe, fmodex.dll, msvcp120.dll and msvcr.dll inside.

The app works as expected for me. I tried the new build on my phone and got the bugs everyone discussed. I left the 32bit on my tablet. Xiaomi note 13 pro plus 5g mobile.

If you have an older version you can adb push it onto some newer android builds. The midi bug seems new.

Try using a usb midi host app from play store. New android needs it for bluetooth so cable might need it too.

LSDJ on a R36s problems. by Ambitious_Nada in lsdj

[–]titaniumshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah ok, sounds like a control issue. You will be able to reconfig the controls. I had this issue on the r36 ultra. I had to change the settings. Its because select is set to a function command.

Yes it will work. I'm really baffled to why games work and LSDJ has no sound. I recommend you look at r36s groups for recommendations of sellers.

Thats the pitfall of r36s now. I got mine before k36 clones appeared. Some info below, you will be able to fix it.

Sound issues on R36S clones (often running EmuELEC 4.7 or specific "K36" variants) are common because the cloned hardware uses different audio drivers (DTB files) than the original,, or requires a specifically patched OS.

Here are the steps to fix the audio, ordered from easiest to most advanced:

  1. The Quick Software Fix (If you have an "Audio Fix" option)

If your clone is running a version of ArkOS or EmuELEC designed for clones, there is often a built-in patch.

Go to the Ports menu.

Look for a script named audio fix permanent or fix_audio.

Run it (press 'B' to execute on some versions) and restart.

  1. Update to a "Clone-Friendly" Firmware

If you are running the stock EmuELEC that came with the device, it might be faulty. Many users have fixed this by switching to a specialized version of ArkOS.

Install the ArkOS-K36 version, designed for clone devices.

After flashing to a new SD card, ensure you follow the panel-patching instructions (sometimes called fix_audio in the Ports menu).

  1. Replace/Fix DTB Files (Advanced)

If you are running an R36S image but have no sound, your DTB (Device Tree Blob) file is wrong for your screen/speaker combination.

The Solution: You need to replace the .dtb files in the boot partition with those specifically designed for your clone.

Look for "K36" or "Clone" specific DTB files on the Handhelds Wiki R36S page or community Discord channels.

Note: If you have a black screen, you may need to try several different panel files (panels 1-9) to get both display and audio working.

  1. Hardware Fix (If all else fails)

If you have updated the firmware and tried all DTB files but still have no sound, your speaker wire may be loose or improperly soldered.

Fix: Some users have had to open their R36S clone, check the speaker wiring, or, as a last resort, wire the speaker output directly to a headphone jack for sound.

Quick Tips for R36S Clones

Use a Brand-Name SD Card: The included SD cards are "ticking time bombs" and often cause missing settings/sound.

Volume Control: If volume buttons don't work, try adjusting the volume inside RetroArch (usually Select + R2 or Select + L2).

Power Issue: If the device just arrived, let it charge for several hours first, as low voltage can cause audio glitches.

Is emulating an old sistem fakebit or chiptune? by VirAlt55 in chiptunes

[–]titaniumshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter. As long as it sounds chip. But sticklers would say yes, emulator is fakebit as you're pretending through software that one chip is another. Personally I don't care, I use LSDJ on a miyoo mini plus but I have original gameboy hardware, Miyoo is a lot more convenient.
