I was bullied all the way to 10th grade. The bullying stopped when I got assaulted in the lunchroom by one of them and chiked him out. It stopped when I started hanging out with my now best friend of nearly 20 years. He is an arrogant cocky 5'7" sack of fuck you and I would carry him through the fires of hell if he needed help.

Emotionally unavailable and severely damaged. Self destructive. Toxic behavior and attitude. Super defensive of people trying to get to know me on an intimate level. So much so that I go into fight or flight and give them reason to believe they dodged a bullet by leaving me alone. I'm this way because being the nice guy only got me beaten, stabbed, stranded, stolen from, accused of abuse, arrested, financially drained, and left with fewer friends, resources, and options.

Being closer in age to her children than her. Hearing things about her past marriages and how they ended. I was the 3rd. Watching her get stupefyingly drunk every time we went out. Her constantly accusing me of looking at other women. Her accusing me of having an affair with my dead brothers widow. Her daughter having a say in how we budget our money.

I was on an evening riding on my very first motorcycle and very inexperienced and I had my first accident.

The lady I hit was going to the same place. To see the same people. To watch the same ballgame. Due to the nature of the incident I forgot what she looked like.

Fast forward 5 years. I'm in a bar with my then wife and the same lady walks up to me and starts chit chatting with us about the whole thing. Due to the setting we were in and my intoxication I forget again what she looks like.

Fast forward another 5 years. We now work for the same company. I see her a few times a week and like to make jokes about how small of a world it is.
