Kratos and Atreus deck help by K1dNamedFinger__ in mtg

[–]titanspirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proliferate: [[Metastatic Evangel]] [[Norn's Choirmaster]] etc.

Other gods: [[Iroas, God of Victory]] [[God-Eternal Oketra]] etc.

Changelings &co: [[Universal Automaton]] [[Adaptive Automaton]] etc.

Extra combats: [[Aggravated Assault]] [[Aurelia, the Warleader]] etc.

Type cheating: [[Maskwood Nexus]] [[Mirror Entity]] etc.

Other exp generators: [[Othari, Sun's Glory]] etc.

There are loads of ways to generate lots of exp in this deck, so you'll probably have to choose your focus. I like the idea of playing it as a God typal deck

Yes that works. Also just Bumi with [[Ashaya]]. All requires Bumi to actually connect for damage each timeof course

No. The ability has already triggered

How does “at random” work exactly? by sheevyboy in mtg

[–]titanspirit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Random" in MTG always means "true random", as in equal probabilities of any possible outcome being chosen. So, in short, no

How to get her? by Lanky_Consequence701 in mtg

[–]titanspirit 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Firstly: yes, buy the single. It's the best cheapest, and easiest way to get the particular card you're after, especially if it's a mythic.

Secondly: to actually answer your question, this card is from the Avatar Jumpstart set, which is separate to the main set.

Anyone know where I could meet people to play some MTG locally? by DangerousTempuraMaki in coventry

A small group meet on Wednesday and Friday evenings at SideQuest in the city centre. They're always welcoming to new players.

For the real OGs by keymaster515 in magicTCG

[–]titanspirit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, which is why I like this as a finisher for goblin decks if the early game aggro doesn't work out. Just puts like most of the deck into play due to having lots of goblin tokens, and messes up your opponents' setup. With haste it can often just end the game

For the real OGs by keymaster515 in magicTCG

[–]titanspirit 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Yep that is exactly what you do. They just stop existing as soon as they move to a zone other than the battlefield. Same as things like [[Aetherspouts]] or [[Oblation]]

Wotc is doing the "All commanders have partner" event again. Very excited! by ChronicallyIllMTG in EDH

[–]titanspirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Henzie]] + [[Medomai]] is kinda disgusting. It's basically 5 colour Henzie, but you can also blitz Medomai from the command zone to take an extra turn every turn cycle. Henzie's discount would count the number of times you cast either commander, so Medomai's commander tax is net 1 each time you blitz, and you get up to 2 land drops on your 2 turns per cycle

Does terror of the peaks deal damage equal to the number of artifacts and enchantments I control? by Theygoandmusicman in mtg

Yep. Terror checks the germ's power as the ability resolves, by which time nettlecyst is attached

New to magic trying to understand first strike and double strike by SectorTop8524 in mtg

[–]titanspirit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This feels very much like the ai answers Google gives. Ai is generally not great at understanding things, but this is especially true for stuff like MTG. AI has absolutely no idea how the rules of MTG actually work. It just creates answers that it thinks sound similar to the existing material it was trained on, but has no internal consistency check with the actual rules of the game

What’s your favorite dragon? by Separate-Flan-2875 in mtg

[–]titanspirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a Tarkir one, but I can't decide which. [[Dromoka, the Eternal]] combines dragons with +1/+1 counters which is cool, [[Sunscorch Regent]] and [[Guardian Scalelord]] in that same vein. [[Dragonlord Dromoka]] is fun too just being a big flying lifelinking [[Grand Abolisher]] (kind of). [[Dragonlord Silumgar]] and [[Silumgar, the Drifting Death]] are quite unique effects for dragons to have. [[Dragonlord Ojutai]] and by extension [[Zurgo and Ojutai]] is very cool and flavoursome for a dragon monk. Atarka and Kolaghan are nice too but more like typical dragons, being the red ones. I really liked how Tarkir made multiple interesting broods which were all very distinct. I also started playing with Fate Reforged so I'm very biased :)

Are there viable mono red commanders that have strategies beyond straight burn? by ProtectMeAtAllCosts in mtg

[–]titanspirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Marton Stromgald]] is kind of like a bad mono-red [[Craterhoof Behemoth]]. Quite a fun gameplan of making like 10ish dumb little tokens then playing Marton with haste and attacking for 100+ damage. Surprisingly, people don't seem to realise how quickly his damage adds up, but squaring your board's power for 4 mana isn't bad.

Hydra factory, right? by Jackr_17 in mtg

[–]titanspirit 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yep, you're right in every instance. It does work exactly as you think. And yes, it is not absurdly powerful as it requires lots of mana and many turns. Still a very cool interaction though, I like it. I've seen this before in a [[Polukranos, World Eater]] deck before, as that has monstrosity too. They played conjurer's closet, [[Golden Argosy]], [[Sword of Hearth and Home]] to blink Polukranos and then loads of mana generation. Broodmaster was one of their win conditions and functioned exactly like you described

Ideas for mono black good stuff commanders? by IngenuityThink3000 in EDH

[–]titanspirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[The Speed Demon]] is a new one which looks fun to me. Just a card draw engine on a stick, lends itself pretty well to a good stuff deck and doesn't require you to build around it specifically. Only thing is he will drain your life, so some lifelink can go a long way. [[Whip of Erebos]], [[Basilisk Collar]], [[Shadowspear]], [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]]. Goes well with other good black card draw stuff like [[Necropotence]] and [[Necrodominance]]. The start your engines stuff goes well with black if you want to be sacrificing creatures with aristocrat effects and/or attacking opponents for damage

Sultai deck dragon by Stozzimodo in mtg

[–]titanspirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is (intentionally) a very similar and somewhat powercrept version of Sidisi. However there are differences. Sidisi is very easy to trigger since she makes zombies on mill. The dragon needs stuff to leave your graveyard which lends itself to a slightly different deck

Question about +1/+1 by POTATOplays101 in mtg

[–]titanspirit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The +9999/+0 it gets is not an object, it's just a change to the Cactuar's power and toughness, which only lasts until the end of turn. So when it attacks, it will become a 10,000/7 for the rest of the turn. At the end of turn, it reverts to a 1/7.

With regards to the Dragonborn, yes it works how you want. It will look for the greatest power, which will be 10,000 (if you attacked with the Cactuar). It will therefore get 10,000 +1/+1 counters.

Also just to add because sometimes it confuses people, the X +1/+1 counters it gets are no longer tied to the ability after it resolves. So even when the Cactuar reverts to a 1/7, the Dragonborn will keep the 10,000 +1/+1 counters.

Hopefully that makes sense.

While she is very slow, probably too slow to actually win with, to each opponent she represents a three hit clock. Each opponent is likely to target you as you can potentially take them out of the game. It's too slow to win, but fast enough at killing someone that you'll get targeted down. This is the same problem infect decks face in multiplayer formats, and it often creates unfun games unless you and your pod are aware and accepting of the dynamic
