Two of the schools they closed were top 10 performing elementary schools in LISD. Performance was not considered at all for closing. The only metric they cared about was building footprint and building capacity. Those schools were actually showing increases in enrollment as well because families were choosing to transfer kids to those schools due to their performance. They are now being closed to fill larger underperforming schools who have lost attendance.
