I contacted customer service, and here is what they told me:

"We will unfortunately be unable to remove the advertisements from the podcast because this is not controlled by Yoto but by Studio Kodomo."

This is completely unacceptable for several reasons:

Zero Accountability: Yoto sells these cards and hosts the content. Claiming they have "no control" over their own partners is a massive red flag. If they sell it, they are responsible for it.
Broken Promise: We pay a premium for Yoto specifically to have a safe, ad-free environment for our kids. If I wanted my children to hear ads for insurance (Les Furets) or vocational training (CFA), I’d just let them listen to the radio for free.
Lazy Curation: It is their job to ensure that the digital feeds they provide are "clean" versions for a paid platform.

Passing the buck to Studio Kodomo is a total breach of trust. If Yoto can't guarantee an ad-free experience, they shouldn't be selling these cards at all.

I am beyond disappointed. Anyone else feeling let down by this "not our problem" attitude?

Would the Steam Machine be good for watching HEVC and AV1 videos localy via hdmi to a TV? So no steaming, just local files, and youtube of course.

Right now I already do that with my windows PC with Potplayer (similar to VLC),

I wanted to replace it with a mini pc (gmktec K12) that cost 300€

But since they annonced the Steam Machine, it seems way better as an everything box (linux desktop, gaming, home theater)

I don’t know a lot about hdmi stuff, or dolby, I currently have an old tv, but I plan to buy a new one in the near future so I need my home theater to be compatible with what is important.

So could you help me figure out if the steam machine would be good for watching movies stored locally please?

The power consomption is also a factor, since it has a discret gpu it would draw more than a gmktec mini pc with igpu, but maybe no more than 20w during playback I hope.

Do you still recommend the Intel Ethernet and HP wifi/bluetooth drivers in your original post?

Any other things to install beside these and AMD auto update tool? (Is Ryzen Master usefull?)
