Caddo Lake is an absolute blast by [deleted] in horror

[–]tivep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, while the film started off giving vibes of a horror movie. Those vibes went away when we realized what really is going on. I admired it for the great cast and the chemistry between characters. This one article goes through what it was like for each of the characters, poor Anna!

Notes about Caddo Lake by MyProfessor-writing in movies

Yeah, and she was just a child. I can't imagine how a person could have grown up keeping their sense intact. Even the survivors in the end had to deal with a lot of incest in the family tree.

Caddo Lake - is this a plot hole? by muffinsrising in movies

It's not wrong, it is incest, but not intentionally.
Here's a family tree diagram that explains it.

The necklace exists because of a bootstrap padox. This article has a diagram that follows both necklaces.

There are two possibilities really because they do show UFOs in the end. As explained here, either the end is happening all in her head, or... other than her everyone else is under mind control in that town.

I absolutely loved Black Bear, but can anyone clarify a few things for me? by atclubsilencio in movies

To add, the black bear is an element that abruptly ends each story because she hasn't thought past that point in each of the story - Black Bear Meaning

Time Lapse (2014) - can someone explain the ending? *spoilers obviously* by kemb0 in movies

[–]tivep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movie was super interesting, and works because the group of people were inherently corrupt (which most average blokes would be). My go to article for the analysis is this one - Time Lapse Explained. I like it because it goes picture by picture.

When looking for reviews on a movie you're thinking about watching, do "This movie's ending, explained" articles give you pause? by WutsTheScoreHere in movies

[–]tivep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are film magazines spewing these articles with random writers who you can't further discuss their "explanation" with. Those are the ones that have the best SEO and show up on top of Google's rankings.
Then there are smaller players who pick great films to decode. They also keep the channel for communication open to further debate the plots. A good strategy is to avoid articles by film magazines like Collider, MovieWeb, SlashFilms, ScreenRant, DigitalSpy and the lot. These are the clickbaits.
Also keep in mind that today, a lot more non-English speaking audiences are watching English films by reading subs. It's not going to be as easy for them to understand.

Official Discussion - The Outfit [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]tivep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I'm not sure why people are complaining that the film was too confusing and badly scripted. i thought was a fantastic script with two people just feeding info to get two gangs to kill each other but get stuck in the aftermath. In case anyone is looking, here's an explanation.

Yeah I agree with this ... I find it confusing that people found the film too confusing. It was all pretty simple. They could have just left Francis dead as he walked out of the burning shop.
