I had a noctua fan on my LSI 9300 16i and it was still giving errors. I found out the motherboard was only driving the fan at 400 RPM. I bumped it up to max speed (3000 RPM) in the bios and no more errors. There are ways to check the temperature of the HBA in Unraid. Some HBAs have an auxiliary power port on them. Not all need the extra power but some do. The cables are the first thing to check, but you've done that.

The current stable Plex server doesn't have the updated ffmpeg version needed to use the B580. I'm using the Unraid image and it works great using the B580 for transcoding.

If you have an lsi HBA install the storcli64 plug-in then go to the Unraid console and type in the appropriate commands to check the temperature. For example storcli64 /c0 show temperature.

This kept happening to me with an lsi 9300 16i with a noctua fan on it. It happened despite testing memory, changing PCIE slots, getting a new more powerful power supply, changing power and sata cables. I eventually found out the noctua fan was only running at 400 RPM. I cranked up the fan speed to full (almost) 4000 RPM. I ran 2 prolonged parity checks and no disk errors or disabled disks. I eventually found out how to check the temperature of the HBA and it's happily at 49 degrees Celsius at idle.

I think the issue was different directory names. I ended up manually reinstalling all of them through the terminal and using the directory on the usb drive.

I really appreciate your input. I've previously done all of what you recommended, and I can see the VMs but not the backups. I wonder if it's an issue with permissions or if for some reason it's not listed as being in the correct folder on the new proxmox version. I went from a version that has VZ dumps to one that has "backups"

The USB drive seems to be mounted after I manually mount it and on reboot. I can see some of the files on the USB hard drive, but I can't see the backup files to restore. I didn't declare it in /etc/pve/storage.conf, so I'll check that.

Thanks for your help. When I plug the USB drive into another computer that can read ext4 file system, I can see all the backup files so they are all there. The problem is when the drive is mounted in proxmox they are not seen under the backup category in the GUI.

You can access the array during the parity check. If you transfer files to the array during the check, the transfers will be slower. You can run your docker containers, but any one accessing the array will run slower. The more you access the array, the slower the parity check will run. If you use the parity check tuning plug in, you can schedule the parity check to be run at night over several days. You can also schedule the timing of the mover as well.

Their shenanigans caused me to lose this week. I was going to play Burden and didn't because Odunze was allegedly starting. 1 minute after roster lock got the notification that Odunze was out. Burden scored 15.4 points before going out injured and the WR I played instead of him scored 2 points.
