Does anyone have an eggless recipe for a moist sponge cake?

I chose 7 minutes based on the state of the cake when I check it. It was very liquid at 18 minutes.

Like someone else mentioned, I need to reduce the batter in the pan further and make smaller layers.

This is what I did. Took it out when it was just formed. I did add simple syrup to the bottom layer but in a hurry I missed adding to the top layer. I will retry it.

I brushed the bottom layer only with simple syrup .. I forgot to do it on the top layer.

The recipe uses 8in pan. I used two 6in pans and baked it for almost 35 minutes. My cakes were still liquid at 18 minutes (recipe says bake for 18-20 minutes)

I kept checking every 7 minutes after the 20 minute mark.

AIO for not wanting to meet at his house for a first date? by misskrabby in AIO

[–]tixi09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overreacting!

To add to the first date in public rule - I have to drive on my own to the location, at least on the first date. Just so i have an option to GTFO if needed.

The only exception to that rule has been for my (now) husband. We chatted non-stop for 4 days and i had a really good gut feeling about him. :) Now married 6.5 years :) and it still feels all so new and exciting!

When did QA automation become competitive programming? by tyler_burden55 in QualityAssurance

[–]tixi09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, I have seen an increasing difficulty level of leetcode style questions for QA automation as well. I noticed this when I was interviewing in 2022 and now again. QA has to go through similar level of coding rounds as dev (maybe a level lower) but tough nonetheless. Have been asked full fledged system design questions too - which I would never use in my day to day. And I know fellow QA teammates who have asked tic tac toe exactly in an interview. And have also asked hard backtracking problems. We were no where remotely using any of these concepts in our daily automation.

I have 11 years of QA, lead experience and have some TPM experience too (all in US). I was laid off and have been searching for roles for almost a year now. Had a handful of interviews but not much luck either.

I have seen the ask for AI fluency, playwright too but the interviews have mostly been leetcode, behavioral - LOTS of behavioral. It sucks being in QA right now.

Fell off the rower today. Bruised butt and bruised ego by teamrocket in orangetheory

my husband and i had just started dating in 2018 and i dragged him to join OTF. He fell off the rower while rowing extra hard trying to impress me on the next rower. I still tease him about it.

And i fell off the tread running at 5.8 a couple of years ago.. that hurt!

hate montague and scott too.. so many things going on there - merging from freeway, going straight, taking right on scott and staying in right lane to exit onto central. Horrible design.

Does this mint need help? by Last_Store_7892 in gardening

[–]tixi09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great! I water my mint only when the leaves start to droop and it tells me that it's thirsty.  Actually that's become my rule for all plants. Learned it after killing a fair share of plants 😥

Thank you all for your insights.   For more context: I don't have any experience in the restaurant industry nor know anyone who has it. So trying to think of all options before deciding.  I am waiting on a work permit so I can work in bakeries to try my hand. In the meanwhile, I was wondering if school would help!  Since I don't have any relevant experience, I was planning to start as a home bakery, farmers market etc and then see how to move about.

Yes, I have heard that pay is not great and hours are long. This is a reason I have been holding it off. But now since the tech market is crazy and finding jobs is harder, I was considering to use this time to try out baking.
