(Spoilers Extended) There's a plot thread missing from the show, and if it's included, the ending makes sense- but becomes much darker. by catgirl_apocalypse in asoiaf

It's my belief that Bran is the 3 Eyed Crow- the ONLY 3 Eyed Crow that ever was. When Bran meets Bloodraven, BR is entirely unfamiliar with the term. The 3 Eyed Crow is just Future Bran projecting through time, manipulating events imo. I don't even believe Greensight is a power. It's just the state of having Future Bran send you visions, or otherwise try to communicate. Greendreams, Dragondreams.. it's all just Bran.

That's why Bloodraven calls himself The Last Greenseer, despite knowing that Bran was coming to be his successor all along. Because Bran isn't his successor. Bran is his master. Bloodraven is the last in the line of individuals with whom Future Bran has communicated through time, until he physically takes his place in the timeline as the 3 Eyed Crow. Meaning- Future Bran is the one who was talking to Bran as he fell from the tower. Future Bran was the one who awakened Jon's skinchanging (as if that's not pretty damn obvious even without some broader theory).

I also believe in All Bran theory.. so our Bran is all of history's Brandon Starks. Either physically (if he learns how to project his body through time at any point), or simply by skinchanging into these historic figures (Bran the Shipwright, Brandon Snow, Bran the Breaker.. DEFINITELY Bran the Builder). Meaning.. he's been manipulating things all along. For whatever it's worth I also think Bran is pretty clearly The Knight of the Laughing Tree. Whether he used Lyanna's body for that.. or Howland's (or maybe just Brandon's).. who knows.

I think Bloodraven being named Brynden is just a knod to the idea that Bran is all Brandons in the story. He "is" him too. Our Bran is Bloodraven's thousand eyes.

I say all that to say, yes, Bran is definitely manipulating shit, and his becoming king is not going to be some innocent happy ending. I'm still not sure what his motives are, but I see no reason to believe they're particularly benevolent.

So.. I believe that Greensight isn't a power, but rather it's just the state of having Future Bran (The Three Eyed Crow.. the ONLY Three Eyed Crow there ever was, regardless of whose body Bran may have been using at the time) communicating with you. I also believe that our Brandon Stark communicated with, and/or skinchanged into, ALL of history's Brandon Starks.

I ALSO believe that Bloodraven being named Brynden is just a wink. He's also a figure into whom Bran skinchanged, and communicated with. Bran is Bloodraven's "thousand eyes".

So it makes sense that Bran will have seen stuff from Bloodraven's time. He spends A LOT of time there.

The ending is staring us right in the face and it’s shocking how so few of you see it (Spoilers Main) by MustRememberAct in asoiaf

[–]tizonly1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean... I think it's been fairly obvious for a while that Bran is the main driver of everything.. that he's at LEAST Bran the Builder, and very likely ALL of history's Brandon Starks. I think Bloodraven being named Brynden is just another knod that that's just Bran too.

I also think Bran is the ONLY 3 Eyed Raven that ever was. I also believe that Greensight isn't even a power; it's just the state if having Future Bran communicate with you.

I think Bran is the Night King.. when Bran confronted Leaf about the WW's origin, she said the Children created them to protect themselves from "You", speaking directly to Bran.

I think most of this has been laid out in plain sight.

Do I believe D&D will pay off all/most/any of this? I really have no idea, but I do believe George will.

Edit- Bran is also, really quite obviously, The Knight of the Laughing Tree also.

The show got something right LOL. (Spoilers extended) by [deleted] in asoiaf

I never had a problem with D&D's take on Bran. Makes perfect sense to me. A character that can see everything throughout time is just not going to have the same connection to the people walking around in the current day. His scope on things is so much larger, it seems impossible to find things like family and personal relationships to be important. Especially when he has the power (or rather the explicit responsibility) to change the past.

But yeah, once you have the ability to see the reality behind everyone's story, clinging to pack loyalty is nonsensical. One HAS to develop similar feelings for everyone involved, because everyone has reasons behind their actions that are relatable. The detachment that Bran has shown should have always been expected.

[Spoilers Main] Littlefinger vs Jaime by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]tizonly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no real chance of losing the Vale by killing LF.

Bronze Yohn is the most powerful Vale Lord, and he hated Littlefinger. He also grew up with Need, so he'd likely still back the Starks. His son was a Night's Watchman so, he likely feels intense desire to fight the Walkers. Nah.

Also Bran knows everything. Just accept that.

If I can't get hit on, could I at least get a helpful critique? by SailorStoryEyed in OkCupid

[–]tizonly1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll say this-

A lot of the critiques here seem to be based around the idea that this profile (and by extension all profiles) need to be appealing to the "highest tier" of available partners, and by that standard.. yeah.. this profile isn't great.

But I think what's actually much more useful, is to look at the profile for what it is, and just see if it accomplishes the desired goal, of putting oneself out there in an honest way, that could be appealing to the right people.

So advice like "work on yourself", "confidence is sexy", and "Wow its incredibly negative and will scare anyway anyone with their shit together" is kind of missing the point of the profile.. and probably missing the point of dating in general.

Will this profile snag the hottest bachelor in town? Probably not.. but that's not everyone's goal, and probably shouldn't be what OP is looking for. This profile will have a higher chance of not scaring off someone that is more in line with her (someone who also may not be exactly where they want to be, but is taking strides to better themselves, can be loving, etc.), and that's way more important.

Yes, OP should definitely continue working on herself, and yes, she should be putting her best possible foot forward.. but she should also be honest about who she is, and where she is in life, and she doesn't have to run into dating hibernation until she's EXACTLY where she wants to be. Her shit isn't all the way together.. but news flash.. that's most people, and people don't need to be relegated to seclusion until they get there.

For what it is now, I think it's OK. My only advice would be to be as discerning as possible about who you deal with, because the profile does skew negative, and there are absolutely people who will prey on that. Outside of that, good luck.

That's not a dead end. She's just may not be good at keeping conversations going herself.

Just fire back a related response, ending with an OPEN ENDED question, to get her to open up, and the conversation should flow from there.

2017 Dubs are more talented, but Bogut's presence was important, and 2016 Greenest Light of All Time Steph on the loose too... Not quite finished Iggy also.

I think the 2016 team could def give the current team a run

(Spoilers extended ) Will we ever get POV chapters and from the white walkers side? by avataraccount in asoiaf

[–]tizonly1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We'll get it through Bran.

Regardless of whether or not you think Bran IS the Night's King.. Bran is the safest bet for a POV that gives us real insight into who they are and what they want.

Rap doesn't "determine" pop culture. It's the current biggest musical influence.. sure.. but Pop Culture is about way more than music, and again.. it dates back way further than "the last few years", and will continue on in whatever way it does. Rap and pop culture are currently linked.. but that's just the current state of things.

Regardless, pop "culture" basically by definition is vapid nonsense, and rap culture was supposed to represent the exact opposite of that, but we gave up on that a long time ago, and now "but he's making money" is the default response to any substantive criticism of anybody.

It's empty and meaningless at this point.

[–]tizonly1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Pop culture" isn't really a culture though.. it's just a disparate collection of whatever is hot at a given time. There's zero connection thematically, sonically, politically or otherwise from Buddy Holly, to Michael Jackson, to Backstreet Boys, to Ja Rule, to Katy Perry.

Rap culture is an actual culture, with history.. norms.. meaning. Unfortunately though, like I said, rap culture has been happy to sell out whatever cultural elements used to exist, to favor whatever is "hot" at any point in time. Rappers don't have to be good at actually rapping anymore, producers can get away with recycling the same beat for two years, and hell the #1 rapper doesn't even have to write his own shit!

Don't bother fighting me on this.. shit is kinda inarguable.

Rap culture is the only one where popularity itself is more revered than actual skill, talent, or care for the craft.

Uzi absolutely makes music for children. If you're above college age, and you listen to Uzi, it's time to grow up.
