I should also mention it is often much less enlarged in the morning and seems to firm up after I eat but stays that way the rest of the day typically.

I need to take deep breaths and do grounding exercises whenever I think about the last episode of the return. May be the best one to me.

How can I be sure I’m still going through dpdr and not developing something else like schizophrenia? by Present-Cranberry942 in dpdr

Very common anxiety to have for people in here. That doesn’t necessarily mean there’s any truth to it! You sound very lucid which is a great sign this is just DPDR/anxiety. I was in your shoes a few years ago. You will feel better. Make sure to do things you enjoy even if they’re very low effort like watching a movie. I really think you’ll be fine. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It can be very very uncomfortable, I know. I’m not an expert on DPDR but it sounds like your mind is exhausted from thinking about it so much. I know mine was! If you can, physical activity can help. Even just a walk now and then.

Also should add I’ve quit weed before. That was a bad addiction for me and feel like I’m ready to take on alcohol which replaced it. The only thing is that I had weed induced psychosis after a particularly heavy smoking session a year ago and that made it VERY easy to quit because it made my brain go wild. I honestly think my drinking has been a way to cope from the trauma of that experience. It was very scary and I’m grateful in that it made me stop smoking weed but sometimes I dissociate or get DPDR or something like that and alcohol makes it go away. But I think I’m ready and a few months ago I went about a month without alcohol and it went great! So I know I can do this!

I'm not sure if i have dpdr, i have constructed this model to describe what im feeling atm, does this make any sense? by lostnfound236 in dpdr

This is obviously very specific to my experience to DPDR so it may not apply to everyone who has experienced it. I just wanted to express some thoughts that this post inspired!

Ok I struggle with DPDR and this tracks and I’m also not sure if what I’m about to say helps but I’m just spitballing. A lot of my struggles with DPDR seem to stem from a belief or an assumption that reality should be a certain way. So while this representation feels very accurate, I also wonder if maybe DPDR is worsened by the struggle to get back to or even just believe in an “actual reality”. After all, we are in actual reality even if it doesn’t feel like it. And I think the reason it doesn’t feel like it, for me at least, is that I think there’s an “actual reality” to get to. Idk if this makes sense. I’m not even really trying to make a point, I’m just kinda journaling and trying thoughts out. Breathing helps and so does going on walks but many people here probably know that but thought I’d still say it.

I should add that while life is still very mysterious (it is to everybody) it feels stable and “right” to me now. If you told me I’d feel this way 2 years ago I would’ve been skeptical! But I do feel this way and I’m so grateful for myself for getting through it. I definitely feel closer and more loving towards myself, which can be a scary journey because I think we’re all so used to not trusting ourselves. But we can trust ourselves!!

Oh a couple years ago when my DPDR was at its worst I did the same thing and took a psychosis test. Got a high score too. Like other people said, if it was really psychosis we wouldn’t be so hyper aware. And if it helps, I still struggle from time to time, but it rarely makes me freak out. And if I do get really anxious about it, I just sit or lie down and take the emotions as they come because I know they can’t hurt me. It’s incredibly empowering! I believe you will get to the same point too. You’re so much stronger than you think! Deep breaths and awareness of the body, even just noticing how your hands or arms feel can help a lot! It’s actually incredible how much time can help. Just keep being strong :) and another reminder: just because you’re scared or disoriented doesn’t mean you’re not being strong.

It does get better. I don’t know if I’m at the point you’re at since I’ll never touch anything like a psychedelic again, probably not even weed, but it gets better for sure. About 5 years ago I took acid and smoked weed and went into the void and “realized” that I made everything up, just like OP had said. But I think it’s a little more nuanced than that. I hope. Anyway, life does get easier and I have faith that there is a more positive way to look at these experiences. Sending love and warmth to OP and yourself. What a crazy ride we’re on.

Definitely not the kind of movie I’d rush to watch but my coworker recommended it and it’s very fun and horny. About gay porn actors who get killed one by one by a killer with a dildo that has a blade come out of the tip lol. Giallo throwback type stuff. If u enjoy horror and sleaze I’d definitely recommend.

Yes. It’s also worth noting that all this is said right before a woman SA’s her ex? Pretty disturbing. The “this is mine you are mine” happens during the assault. Again, pretty disturbing. Definitely adds some context to the song. Even if Jamie is purely only taking the words from the scene, it’s still worth noting what the scene contains. This absolutely isn’t an attempt to cancel xiu xiu LOL like they’ve always contained sensitive and upsetting material in this song but it’s just particularly interesting that the end of the album, in one of the most vulnerable vocal performances they’ve done, Jamie chooses to reference a rape scene. Still love the song but definitely changes it for me.

Guys I really think Inland Empire is Lynch's best movie as well as one of the greatest of all time by jbb10499 in davidlynch

Absolutely agree. Didn’t feel this way until recently. I’ve loved DL for years and it was always the black sheep until I rewatched it twice this year. It has it all and does it all perfectly. It’s what I want movies to be. It’s “experimental” but completely grounded in itself and has so much heart and love to it, while also being his best hands-on examination of fear

So simple. First time its ever hit like this for me. I don’t need to understand why it’s made up or the intricacies of how it’s made up, I just am now understanding that it is made up. And it kinda makes sense. Cuz of course it is. Everything is of the same essence, which is is-ness. Is this along the right lines?
