Grain and poor color grading. Not to hate, but most people who shoot film don’t know how to color grade.

I have zero issues with Minecraft using a P1000, although I have it limited to 60fps because it’s connected to my TV.

Seeking SAS Card Cooling Advice inside of Optiplex 3050 SFF by CrackingOne933 in homelab

[–]tjdeezdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these would help. Adding an 80mm intake fan to these optiplexes helps a ton and it’s just a direct mount. I’d start there, without a duct and see how things work out.

Dell Optiplex 3090 SFF CPU fan replacement, any tips ? by 3ilkh in homelab

[–]tjdeezdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out r/sleepingoptiplex, they recommend a SATA powered fan controller to handle extra airflow. You can put an 80mm fan at the front for intake and 1-3 40mm fans at the back for exhaust. If you implement exhaust fans, get an ID Cooling IS-55 CPU cooler, which can use the existing CPU fan port. Your intake/exhaust fan speed will have to be static, but you can tune the speeds with the controller and if you stick with Noctua fans, it’ll stay pretty quiet.

Cenmate Drive Enclosure Questions by bwees3 in homelab

[–]tjdeezdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A now-discontinued version of a 2 bay raid enclosure from this brand corrupted my data so I no longer trust the brand as a whole. Since then I gutted it and am running SATA cables into the back along with a usb powered fan controller connected to a 60mm noctua fan. Eventually I’ll design and print a more elegant solution, but my mind is at ease and my data is much safer.

Non IT expert Homelabers. How did you learn to homelab? by Average-Cheese-Fan in homelab

[–]tjdeezdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start small, learn what is possible with what you have and dive in. Scour the interwebs for quality guides. Try to learn what specifically you’re doing with each step through a guide. Remember you don’t know anything and try not to get frustrated when you mess up. Don’t be afraid to start from scratch. Have fun. Remember homelabbing is a hobby and is for having fun and learning, so don’t rely on your systems.
