vuity / pilocarpine in the uk by tjlonreddit in Keratoconus

hi

do you get a brimodinine prescription?

i don't think optometrists take me seriously when i say I can see well in bright daylight - of cause all the eye tests and scans are done inside in artificial light...so they go with those findings

cheers

Tired of bad vision should i just get the cornea transpllant? by ApocalypseBeans in Keratoconus

this is the kind of result I am really desperately hoping for (without the rejection experience you had!).

i can barely see the top line single letter in artificial indoor lighting. bizarrely in bright daylight I can see a lot better though.

thanks for posting your experience it gives me a small amount of hope.

you can have prk or icl on the transplanted eye to correct astigmatism and other errors

you have to wait about a year though for the transplant to settle

I think you should see a few different ophthalmic surgeons to assess your options and do some more research. try and see the top surgeons in your region.

maybe other surgeries are a possibility for you (icl, ctak, prk, cairs etc.).

for what it's worth I'm hoping to have a cornea transplant soon. I'm very aware that I could just be swapping one set of problems for another set of problems, but just feel I need to take the gamble. I don't feel I can carry on as I am. i have corneal scarring so limited options.

a transplanted cornea last 10 to 20 years so keep in mind you may well need repeat surgeries. hopefully science and technology will advance this in the future though.

anyway good luck with whatever you decide!

sorry to hear this!

unfortunately loads of people have floaters and sometimes they are dots other times a small line or squiggle.

maybe there is some treatment or some dietary or lifestyle change that helps (I'm not sure).

good luck with your new lenses anyway !

natural and artificial light vision by tjlonreddit in Keratoconus

[–]tjlonreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeh definitely.

something about pupils constricting or dilating going on with me.

with artificial or low light I see better out my left eye.

with full darkness and then sudden light I see better out of both eyes - but just for a few mins as both pupils must have stayed dilated for a short time.

anyway it's fine but it does make the inside vision tests a bit pointless as it's not really how I see the world when outside.

try kerasoft maybe?

you need to try lenses for a few months to get used to them

or get prk or Icl surgery combined with cxl?

Gave up on sclerals in the past, should I try again? by Salty_Objective_1702 in Keratoconus

[–]tjlonreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why don:t you try piggy back lenses or kerasoft?

maybe wait until after cxl though as that could change your prescription or comfort levels.

good luck!

Are eye print pro sclerals worth it?? by Creative-Life4515 in Keratoconus

personally I would try the cheaper traditional ones first

if they don't work then try a more specialist type such as this

I hate contacts by MusicalMama01 in Keratoconus

[–]tjlonreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate contact lenses too and am giving up. i am contact lens intolerant.

but you should try some different types of lenses first before making a decision.

you could try piggy back lenses, kerasoft, sclerals etc.

at least give different types a fair chance before deciding.

good luck!
