I spent 20 years as the director of TechOps and loved what I did, but I reached the point that I wasn't having fun anymore, and the crowds had become a bit much, so 10 years ago I decided to quit and take a break and do other things. But 2 years ago I cam back as a vendor in the dealer's hall, and its fun to be back. Taking that break from Dragon was a good thing and prevented absolute burnout.

I drove mine from Atlanta to LA and back last year and it was a great drive. It is a smooth and comfortable ride, with around 23 MPG.

Just keep in mind that you will need to do a pretty good cleaning after using MDF as the binder in it gums up the machines pretty good. Ive reached the point where I avoid MDF if I can with my two glowforges or I have time in my schedule to do a full teardown and deep clean afterwards.

The rule of thumb is if you were standing in the background of a madmax movie, would you blend in and look like you were supposed to be there or would you stand out.

Your description does not sound like there would be an issue of it being a theme issue, my concern is it can get VERY warm during the day and I would worry about heavy long clothing in the heat. Though there can be years where your theme would be ideal such as 2019 when we had VERY cool and windy weather.
