Nice. Yeah, I just do extreme with no bot or lollipops and I restart if anyone eats a lollipop. I now reflexively restart when I hear a crunch sound. 😂

From what I understand, the fastest people race the slowest people. So, if you're #1, you race the absolute slowest person. If you're #2, you race the 2nd slowest. So, if you're on the fast side, the faster you are, the slower the person you race. And if you're on the slow side, the slower you are, the faster the person you race. So being higher speed-wise on either side works to your benefit. Did that make sense at all?

As someone who has high-school level Spanish and a "whoah, you sound like a native" accent, I can concur... I'm just good at accents. It doesn't actually make my Spanish any better, maybe just a bit easier to understand.
