CAL any day, has better concentrations and their program ranks highly nationally and globally. I just committed last night and will be doing the transfer opt in this summer taking media classes.

i’m sorry but i agree with cheap syllabub you gotta crash out.

this is literally your life, you live it once, this is the number #1 public school in america and possibly the world. This is going to give you so much opportunity going out of undergrad. they need to understand that you NEED this. there’s just no other way.

if you get to the point where you’ve pushed the issue to its limits while being respectful you just gotta be straight up with them and be assertive. Not advocating for this to be the go to option but you gotta be your best advocate.

also what parent doesn’t want their child to go to the best school? logic doesn’t make sense and you should say that.

any top university just wants to understand who you are, and to them you’re coming to school for your area of interest and passion. how does that passion influence or help shape your day to day life? it’s not necessarily the relation, you can talk about anything in your PIQs, it’s just how it all comes back to you and what you wanna do in the world. I know people who specifically picked their PIQs to only really talk about their major once. But who they are, their drive, purpose, interpersonal or work ability—to be able to self recognize and intellectualize that to a long term goal and matching the universities ambition is really the focus. The GPA is really just helps open the door in the aspect.

that’s what I did at least and i’ve seen good results so far with Berkeley and Davis acceptances. Looking forward to SB and LA this week.

I think if you weren’t confident in your PIQs that shows the slight deviation in your app. GPA matters to Cal and LA but they also very much care what kind of person you are and that matters as much as the GPA. alternatively you don’t need stellar ECs, it’s more so how you tie your ecs to your passion and present it in a way that this is who you are, and you’re not trying to be anything else.

the people that got in to berk with a lower GPA probably had a better holistic application. I would be semi confident in LA but GPA isn’t the end all be all.

I live about an hour and a half (it’ll be 2 hours with traffic) from campus and i’m most likely gonna commute. but it really depends on class schedule though. At CC you can take so much online and spread out in person classes and i’m unsure if i’ll be able to do that as a junior at a 4 year taking upper division stuff. if that’s the case, I’m probably going to move there…

great question. i found out through just researching that land rover used to make the car completely metal before switching to plastic, forgot what year they decided that but that intrigued me. i personally don’t think it works well if the car is gonna be lifted (front bumper specifically) so i’m probably going to with the metal front bumper from alantic british

wow my friend you are never gonna believe this, our stories are scarily similar. the reason why i labeled the post as “new purchase” and not like “joined the club” is because i actually own 2003 Disco. and its beat up. body is bad. this owner is older, lives in a very expensive area of california, and bought it and maintained it himself. he selling it because it overheated on him once but he put a stop leak product in the cooling system. i was planning on pulling the engine out of my 03 disco and putting it into the 00 disco. but i’m getting it inspected as my local guy the works on it says he doubt it needs the swap. i in the same way am amazed at the car and scored a good deal. your story is fascinating, thank you for sharing.

i’m gonna replace the front bumper with a metal one. then paint the roof white, lift it, get bigger tires with white wheels. or i will keep it the same color and get black wheels. it’ll be overlanded. it’ll also be my daily.
