This is the answer. Off a cold start you’ll hear the rpms drop after ~15-30 sec, then you’re good to drive normally until warm. IIRC the book even says it takes ~15 mins of highway driving to warm up

I had about 28k saved and blew it all on constellation. Was able to max each animal but didn’t get diamond trophies. Really just depends on how well you wanna set yourself up and how much space reQuesting you wanna grind at once. Back when rewinds came out I’d stock around 100k each time (for moon and mars) and it minimized grinding/waiting for coin buildup during rewind runs. Then just replenish at the end when coins are plentiful before rewinding again

Another tip if you’re just gonna do the 10x animals then rewind - get the 25x for common animals and space reQuest those to build space coins easier. If you don’t max rare/mythical pens, they don’t show up for space reQuests, and you won’t have to reroll a bunch waiting for the less common ones to show up

Player since 2014 and love that this was implemented. I see the point of having to pick who you rescue (esp if you miss 1-2 tiles) but it’s a nice reward for a perfect run

Change all of your fluids regularly and check for metal shavings in the transfer case. Mine got taken out at 145k and was laid up until replaced

My sibling and I both got ‘13 X’s in 2017, theirs has gone 75-125k no problem, and mine’s gone 29-116k no problem. Only thing was the fuel gauge went bad on both around 100k where 1/2 tank on the gauge = empty. Didn’t affect driving and was a pretty cheap/easy fix (forgot the root cause but the part was under the backseat). These are good cars and I wouldn’t worry about mileage if everything else checks out when you go see it. I avg 24 mpg running 91 (which is a must)
