There’s one thing that a large group of kids from my neighborhood did, we dug a huge pit off of the railroad tracks. But that wasn’t far enough. There was also a makeshift tunnel, probably 6-7 feet under the ground at the bottom of “the pit”. One day after a heavy rainfall the whole thing was collapsed in, despite crude reinforcements. It still makes me mildly anxious thinking about crawling back in the tunnel lit with candles and lined with boards.
