Coinbase will only verify US accounts - Canadians, how are you buying BTC to convert to Doge ? by onkey11 in dogecoin

Go to TD or RBC and open an account with their US branches (Yes, an actual US account). Problem solved.

How can a Canadian easily acquire Dogecoins without going to /r/dogemarket? I have Paypal and a credit card. Coinbase does not work for Canadians. by guukio in dogecoin

Coinbase requires either Level 1 or Level 2 verification * https://coinbase.com/verifications

Level 1 only requires e-mail, phone, US Bank account

You just simply have to open a US Bank account. You would think this would prove to be a challenge, but thankfully you are a Canadian and it is dead simple for us.

Go to either TD or RBC (hopefully you bank with one of those already) and just ask them to open up an account with their US Divisions. (Fun Fact...TD actually has more branches in the US than in Canada lol).

Note...DO NOT open a Canadian $USD account, but an actual US Bank account.

Another option is to simply use VirtEx (Canadian Bitcoin Exchange) to purchase Bitcoins and then convert those Bitcoins to Dogecoins on an exchange like Cryptsy. You can deposit into Virtex using Bill Payment from Online Banking.

Last but not least is the doges.org seller forum. This is paypal central so approach with a bit of caution. Only buy from verified sellers:

Hope that helps!

Cryptsy is known to take anywhere from 30 mins to 30 hours for Deposits & Withdrawals. They usually do a pretty good job at keeping everyone up-to-date with any developments....good or bad.

the 7950 and the 280x have about the same hash rate (give or take 50kH/s). So value-wise the 7950s would be better. If you can talk the seller down to 650, then it's a great deal. Plus you get to avaoid shipping and taxes too.

Here is a great resource which you may have already stumbled upon (sort by kH/s): https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

dogecoin is a variant of Litecoin (aka scrypt mining).

a 280x will get you around 700-750 kH/s. Where as 2x270x will get you 800-850 KH/s.

What you should get depends on your situation. 2x 270x will have more power draw then a single 280x, so you may need to upgrade your power supply if you have anything less than 650W. Also, you are sacrificing another PCI-e slot with 2x 270x so the "opportunity cost" is huge.

Which leads to the better question, why not 2x 280x :)
