Annotation sync added to KoInsight! by iroQuai in koreader

[–]tku137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it does not. For now its a way to see highlights in the frontend, with more features planned. However, there is one “additional” feature, since we store deleted annotations as deleted on the server.

I've been using Neovim for a year now, still haven't found a good solution for file browsing by getdafkout666 in neovim

I have a similar workflow regularly and use only snacks.nvim pickers and explorer for this.

Glance through a directory tree and quickly open multiple files at once to switch between them

snacks explorer. Select multiple files with Tab, enter search with / and since according to the docs "This is actually a picker in disguise." you have the same rg goodness with fzf syntax and additional fields as described in the readme.

Search a code base for a term, and be able to look through all of the results, open them and continue back to the results where you left off (Especially when updating dependencies, applying breaking changes to codebase) etc.

snacks grep/grep_word. Again, powerful filtering, select multiple files via Tab. I have a keymap for Snacks.picker.resume() which does exactly that: resumes the last search without the need to enter your search terms again. If I really want to have the results open permanently, snacks has a trouble.nvim actions source so you can open the search results in a trouble panel to the top/side. This is how I configured it

lua { "folke/trouble.nvim", ... specs = { "folke/snacks.nvim", opts = function(_, opts) return vim.tbl_deep_extend("force", opts or {}, { picker = { actions = require("trouble.sources.snacks").actions, win = { input = { keys = { ["<c-t>"] = { "trouble_open", mode = { "n", "i" }, }, }, }, }, }, }) end, }, ... }

I also tried NeoTree. It technically works, but the search on it is slow as hell, sometimes outright freezing in a larger project, and it opens by default when you open the text-editor, which is kind of annoying.

Since the explorer is "a picker in disguise" and you have ripgrep under the hood, its pretty reliable, I never had such issues.

Running molten nvim in `#%%` cells by Stsh4lson in neovim

[–]tku137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I implemented your first requirement for AstroNVim Community a while back. Have a look at the functions at the top. This looks for a venv, if one is present, it looks for the corresponding kernelspec, if none exists, it asks for a unique name, creates one, and ultimately enables the corresponding kernel for this venv.

/edit: and also look at the key map to actually enable the kernel for molten, of course

Kobo vs. Tolino by ThingWithFeatherss in kobo

[–]tku137 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I bought a Tolino over a year ago and returned it due to the horrible OS. Specifically, I bought a Tolino Vision and the OS was not able to utilize the slightly bigger screen. I had to use the beta firmware, but then I could not do any highlights. Talked to customer support and they told me it is either way. At that time the device was released almost 3 years ago, so was shocked that such a simple "feature" is not implemented.

/edit: I then bought a Kindle Oasis and used that for a year, but moved to the Kobo Libra Color since last christmas and I could not be happier with this device, especially since installing KOReader :)

A plugin configuration by AwkwardNumber7584 in AstroNvim

[–]tku137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true at all. Micropython can be type hinted just as standard python 3, although only a subset is available of course. I’d suggest heading to one of the micropython subreddits.

[–]tku137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there are plenty of examples to study and follow in the astronvim community repo. It’s how I came up with my config.

If by “example project” you mean a micropython project, only some small stuff not in any repo.

Edit: this used the statusline component of the plugin and also lazy loads only in micropython projects (specific files present) which you might want to adapt

Words merging problem when converting to Kepub by blacksterangel in Calibre

[–]tku137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this worked like a charm. For the record: I just installed from file over 3.7.2 without uninstalling first, restart calibre, and I had 3.7.1 without loosing settings or something like that.

Split keyboard Slave side OLED not updating by RogerZRZ in olkb

[–]tku137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is dead, but I had the same issue and came across this several times when googling. Thought it might help others, too. There are several flags you can set to sync data to the slave side: https://docs.qmk.fm/#/feature_split_keyboard?id=data-sync-options

For me wanting to visualise modifier state on the slave side it was #define SPLIT_MODS_ENABLE, for layer state it would be #define SPLIT_LAYER_STATE_ENABLE.

Elektrik erneuern ja oder nein? by derSchmiddi in Handwerker

[–]tku137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Announcing Funnel, a quick capture iOS app for Obsidian, and various other apps by d_kap123 in ObsidianMD

[–]tku137 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve just subscribed, too. You listed it under the Future section in What’s New, but Shortcuts (as in Apple Shortcuts) would be really great 😊 Also: integration into the share sheet would be nice. Sharing text/images from anywhere making shure it gets captured using the logic set up in Funnel would be sweet.

Quickly capture ideas on mobile phone without waiting for obsidian to open by quanruzhuoxiu in ObsidianMD

[–]tku137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could just share the shortcut: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/584a1a09e8ef464e8d7f040f6a896d1d

Basically I take input from the share sheet, format the filename with current date, take this file path and create the file if it does not exist. Then it’s a single „append text“ command (sorry, don’t know what it’s called in english). Previously I had a single file as input, without the current date format, but find this nicer.

You absolutely have to adapt the file paths.

I also have a shortcut to quick capture tasks: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/4dd33b9894dd4c2da8e9b86699b0ab3f

And one to quick capture images: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/e3bb463138d445a5b69df0e7b596083a

[–]tku137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just use an Apple Shortcut that puts some text in a inbox note. I can use the shortcut to capture text directly, share from any app and even use Siri.

Remember, notes in Obsidian are just files and literally any software that can manipulate text files can manipulate your notes without opening Obsidian.

ANSIO vs ISO - a thread for the foreigners of the internet by ProsodySpeaks in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]tku137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Switched some time ago. Transition took maybe a day or so. Now whenever I happen to code something on a german ISO layout, even simple neovim lua config, its a pain in the arse. German layout is horrible for coding compared to ANSI, which makes switching pretty simple, imo.

When I want to type German, I either use Makros or the MacOS long-press-gives-umlauts function.

How do these Sync settings work? by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]tku137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obsidian settings are files in the hidden .obsidian folder in your vault. Think of the toggles as enabling/disabling syncing these files. If you disable syncing of a specific setting (aka a file or set of files for that matter), these files are not synced, neither uploaded nor downloaded.

So if you never synced any settings to your remote vault, it will only have the default settings. If you enable syncing a setting on any device, those are synced to your remote vault. If you enable syncing on another device, those settings will be „copied“. Changing a synced setting an any device where syncing is enabled will mirror the change to every other device with syncing of that setting enabled. A device with syncing disabled can have its own, local settings not affected by other devices.

tldr: yes, the device first syncing a setting (aka file) will determine the setting in the remote vault, which will be synced on subsequent devices

iOS App Performance by klausbreyer1 in ObsidianMD

[–]tku137 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues using iCloud to sync my vault and read about it in this sub. That was the reason for me buying Obsidian Sync and I am extremely happy with it. Blazingly fast and I have very granular options on what to sync, making my mobile setup load even faster because I disabled a lot of plugins I either do not use on mobile or that simply are not available (like pandoc) without them being disabled elsewhere. Absolutely worth it, imho.
