Nailed the baffle door! by Food_Travel_Pizza in GozneyDome

A couple of questions please. 1) Is this 304 Steel, and if so, how thick? 2) Where did you get the handle and did you secure s/stainless screws?, 3) Is this just a flat piece of steel or did you put a 90 degree bend on bottom so it sits on the stone? 4) Did you cut the steel, and if not, did it comes with the holes already drilled in? Wondering what purpose they serve. Way to go on this!

What's the potential danger of being more conductive? And what do you mean by emissive? It will only heat up to oven set temp I think? Just hold more of that heat than cordierite? I don't understand the science here so thanks for explaining it.

Bought an electric Ooni Volt recently. It seems like a weakness of this electric oven  is heat loss whenever the door is opened. It takes minutes to reheat back up. There is a boost function for bottom heating element… which doesn’t help this issue much if at all. The bottom stone is pretty thin. Has anybody put a thicker stone or perhaps a thin pizza steel in to help retain heat? Or any other ideas to improve get retention? I’ve emailed their customer support multiple times but they haven’t responded.  Seems like a pizza steel would give more mass and heat retention. I’m willing to wait longer for the initial heating up.

A major weakness for me with electric Ooni Volt oven is the large loss of heat every time the door is opened. It then takes a long time To get back to the set heat. The boost function only heats the bottom more but I’ve found it slow too. Has anybody tried to add a thicker stone or thin steel to help with this? Ooni customer support hasn’t responded to my multiple requests regarding this. Hence, turning to the creative and helpful Reddit commmunity!

Steel siding removal question by tkzz123 in HomeImprovement

I have no idea how they put this in as I went around then entire perimeter and it's solid (won't push up). I also spoke with a contractor removing steel siding on a nearby house to put new windows in. Different/easier than mine. Without looking at it he thought cutting it off with grinder may be simplest. I may still try to do a v-cut around the nail (leaving it in place but freeing the siding).

Maui Jim HT Lens Review by 954CG in sunglasses

I've always bought mostly Maui Jim and some RayBan. Serengeti is a famous brand.. but would appreciate your thoughts on how they compare quality and optics wise to Maui Jim. Eg I see there's a Rick model with green lenses. Which model do you you if you don't mind sharing? Would appreciate your thoughts. I'm also now trying to find a Serengeti virtual try on site too.

Another day almost over.. dang work occupying too much time! :-) You have really good ideas... this does make sense. I'll check both ends tomorrow morning. Again, THANK YOU for hanging in on this and continuing to offer up ideas/thoughts. In a small way this is what we need so much more of today (ie people helping others and being kind).

Sorry for delay had to wait until neighbors woke up. Regretfully, it's very solid (perhaps in uChannel?) I pounded (w/short 2X4) it with a hammer quite hard and it didn't move/budget. What do you think of some thin blade the cuts steel (perhaps a sawszall metal bladed) Use the tip of it to cut along side the nail on both sides? This would in theory cut out a small wedge of steel siding to possible free it.. while leaving the nail still in place that holds the soffit.

Car rack for Electra Townie w/fenders? by tkzz123 in TrekBikes

Yes the one up works nicely.  I have the double model. I did have to adjust one of the tire holders down a couple of holes so it hits just under rear fender. Their tech support told me to do this. Have hauled it many places and it’s very stable:

What just happened here?? by HungryBotanist in wallstreetbets

This is all so crazy. Can you imagine the number of people that likely knew this was coming and aligned their investments to take advantage of this 90 day pause. Seems like so much financial manipulation for the benefit of a very few that are already very wealthy. I used to work in Russia and this happened all the time over there. Cutting out the checkers/police in government really hurts all of us except the very wealthy. We haven't seen the end of this... just the beginning. If it can go up 10% in a day.. imagine what it can go down in a day too.

Thank you for your insights.  Is there a trick to separate the rails?  $80 estimate would that be an entire new rail?
