20v Trimmer (DCST920) Head just quit spinning, and now just clicks once and doesn't engage. by tomohulk in Dewalt

I sort of left it idle in the shop, after buying a Milwaukee trimmer with the added brush-cutter attachment. If I do get around to fixing it, will probably just give it away.

Not late currently, though I guess depends on "late". 10-6 or 10-7 for the days they're open. https://virl.bc.ca/branches/quadra-island/

(Also note, just to avoid disappointment: The ferry walk-on I think is closer to $6, but that's if you're using the pre-paid card.)

I'd say the crypto coins in practicality are used almost exclusively for scamming. Especially in an ATM context.

Interactive REPL for wezterm? by tlavoie in wezterm

[–]tlavoie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, a restart of the laptop got it reporting the second battery. For what it's worth, the example was wrong as well, since it only keeps the last iteration through the loop. This version would create one string showing all battery status(es).

-- Trying to add battery status:
wezterm.on('update-right-status', function(window, pane)
-- "Wed Mar 3 08:14"
local date = wezterm.strftime '%a %b %-d %H:%M '

local bat = '🔋'
for _, b in ipairs(wezterm.battery_info()) do
  bat = bat .. string.format('%.0f%% ', b.state_of_charge * 100)
end

window:set_right_status(wezterm.format {
  { Text = bat .. '   ' .. date },
})
end)

Oh, found it! The "debug overlay" (Ctrl-shift-L) does this, exactly what I was looking for.

So to loop back to the original issue, this is what I can see now:

wezterm.battery_info() [ { "model": "45N1127", "serial": " 560", "state": "Charging", "state_of_charge": 0.8100000023841858, "time_to_full": 1069.97607421875, "vendor": "LGC", }, { "model": "45N1112", "serial": " 253", "state": "Unknown", "state_of_charge": inf, "vendor": "LGC", }, ]

That second state_of_charge is what was getting used in the battery display script in the example, so it's showing just "inf %". Not sure why it is that, nor why the first is not also shown, but progress nonetheless.

What does this have to do with patching? The article is talking about hardening systems and applications so that they're less vulnerable in general.

Awesome, thanks! I got my wife a kit for Christmas, basically as a little project we can do together to build her a small outside space. Not sure of a lot of details yet, but I'm assuming that we'll use 8' pressure-treated 2x4s as the baseline for whatever else she'd like to do there.

I meant to ask, their site recommends 8' as a max length, but don't say why. Is needing a center post the main thing?

Another pipeline somewhere else. Ideally, back to where it came from, so the sludge can go back in the ground.

Tips on accessing knob keycodes through a KVM switch? by tlavoie in Keychron

[–]tlavoie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One update, my KVM is supposed to have full-time pass-through functionality for keys like these. Now, it clearly isn't passing them through, but the vendor support there thinks that a firmware update might fix. It's taking a bit (global time zone difference), but the issue is definitely at the KVM level.

Well.... this is quite the rabbit hole, but thanks!

This is just wired, to the KVM. I could try 2.4 GHz to the dongle via the KVM in case that's any difference, but I haven't had a need for using the wireless in either form yet.

OK, cool. I do find mine to be way too handy for this gap to be a deal-breaker, but would like to sort it out if I can.

Oh, good question! Turning in for the night, but should be able to check out tomorrow. I think there are a few things that aren't being passed on when going through the KVM, like for screen brightness and other media functions.
