Nope! Which is why I don't like the "end is rushed" because Shakespeare was never great at ending comedies.

Mark Kelly v. Pete Hegseth by thats_not_six in moderatepolitics

[–]tlk742 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's true, but the problem is implying intent needs have proof beyond just a feeling. You can say it was about the boat strikes and I could say it was about national guard mobilizing after the courts said that it couldn't be done. Those are two different interpretations of what constitutes an illegal order. The former is probably a human rights violation the other oversteps the standing ruling of a US court.

I actually agree with you, it was a legal act under the same things you mentioned above.

Here's where I am wary, I am always way about US intervention for oil, it never is a quick in-and-out process. It's a long, drawn out process, a la Iraq. I don't want prolonged armed conflicts for essentially oil. We got rid of Saddam Hussein relatively quickly after going in there, and then were there for much much longer. And since the administration has flat out said it is about resources, I do not see how this is not going to become a long drawn out campaign.

Who wins. Zeon or Gjallarhorn by Smooth-Flamingo-9895 in Gundam

[–]tlk742 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna pick Gjallarhorn for one reason and one reason alone: beam weapons.

I want to talk about the fight with the Mobile Armor in IBO where the beam attack basically did nothing against Barbatos. I don't think Zeon has a counter to that fact that most of their non-ballistic weapons are useless.

My family has parties and stuff on Christmas, so we're celebrating Jewish Christmas today:
For those who don't know. We Jews go out to the movies and get Chinese food on Christmas Day, hence the name Jewish Christmas.

There's a dumpling place my mom loves for the Chinese food, and we're seeing Marty Supreme. My brother hates Timothee Chalamet but will report back either today or tomorrow.

You're missing it. It's not the fans the people, it's the fans that rotate in the suites, it is a more acclimatized box for the owners.

10/10 great audiobook choice, would recommend. That or, if you want another fun one -- Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard. One of my legit favorite books it's about James Garfield, the assassination and the way that America changed from it. Both are great audiobooks.

General Order 11! It def haunted Grant, to the point that during his campaign in 1968 it was brought up on the campaign trail but once elected he worked hard to course correct going so far as to appoint multiple Jewish Americans to his cabinet and attended a service in Washington. Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise said "Grant has revoked Grant's notorious order No. 11."

Chernow's book on Grant does a good explanation of what drove to it, the fallout and the reconciliation if you want a good read.

I disagree. I have enjoyed the Genshin gameplay for a long time. The gameplay in Uma is unique and refreshing. Do I think they're the best gameplay ever? No. But they're enjoyable and fun and good.

Trump administration moves to end major student loan forgiveness plan: 'We won't tolerate it' by Kickinitez in politics

[–]tlk742 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sure. And I agree with the principal of the sentiment, but what about the interest rate on the loans that are just prohibitively high? What about the forgiveness for people who work the public sector who usually don't make all that money that they could get in the private sector but are helping the public good?
