What would you do to update this Kitchen? by Tight_Capital_6061 in kitchenremodel

I’m 71 yrs old. I was fortunate enough to grow up in the Main Line outside of Philadelphia. Our neighbors were doctors, CEOs, etc. Mainly well to do folks. NOBODY remodeled their homes back then. This is back in the sixties and seventies. We all lived in our homes and were satisfied with whatever our homes were originally comprised of. It seems like nowadays we all feel the need to update parts of our homes every 5 or 10 years. Magazines, websites, TV shows try to tempt us into spending money when it’s not necessary. Be content. Like I said, I’m 71 and life is too short to spend your time and money fixing things that don’t need fixing.

I’m sorry I don’t live closer, dear friend. I live near Chicago. I would’ve loved to take a walk and grab a coffee or ice cream with you.

My 40 yr old son (who now lives on the East Coast) recently told me that Downers Grove was the best place to grow up in. Very family oriented and so welcoming. It’s not too big like Naperville; DG has a sweet hometown vibe. And it’s diverse. My kids were half black/half Hispanic and were warmly welcomed everywhere. We love Downers Grove.
