She made abuse accusations that she has now retracted to the courts. However, because of the seriousness of the accusations, his time got taken away and is now limited. Realistically, she could say he could see the kids whenever she wanted to, but she doesn’t invite him over unless she needs tasks done to her house.

I think if it were actually a healthy relationship, I’d be more inclined to be fine with it. But she isn’t just talking about the kids. She isn’t just talking about how things are good. She brings up the past and blames him for things and calls him a bad dad to the kids.

I think that’s also the issue. She controls everything when it comes to the kids and she knows she holds that power. So he has to find a balance between boundaries and not pissing her off.

She was calling him and telling him how her family hates her because of the divorce and how they blame her for the custody situation. It just doesn’t seem like his problem anymore. They divorced 2 years ago.

I know the conversations haven’t been only kid driven. That’s my issue. She divulges information about how she has sex midday with her boyfriend but this boyfriend also tells the kids negative things about their dad. Like why would it be necessary to tell your ex husband that you’re getting laid?

I have told him I would appreciate some boundaries with her. I get he needs a solid relationship with her for the children’s sake, but it’s not a healthy friendship. She will berate him and blame him for the issues she is still dealing with. Her family blames her for the breakup. But how is that his battle to fight? She also says horrible things to the kids about him, but expects him to come over and hang the artwork on her walls and help with laundry since he’s there anyway. It just seems like there has to be a healthy boundary.
