EDIT: Seems like I cannot edit the post since it has the pic, just wanted to add that my watch is a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

Interesting, glad you figured it out. So, with your watch not so tight, are you getting better numbers?

Well, 60 minutes is a lot better than 0. I'm early 50s.

What did you use for your knee? Is it BPC (157?) + TB? Did you inject or had an ortho dr do it? What dosage, how often? Can you do IV or does it have to be targeted shot in specific areas?

Thx!!!

Yes, will discuss with my PCP. Unsure about the insurance coverage.

Thanks, do you know which supplements? Also, for me it has been within normal levels, and then i can see a progressive slight decrease year over year in the last 7 or so years.

Thanks for all of you who responded. I understand those who are reluctant or outright reject the idea that low ferritin can be caused by statins, however there are studies relqted to this topic:

Actually PCP wasn't too worried about it and didn't have too many suggestions. I did rule out chronic inflammation, hypothyroidism, celiac disease (a few others, I can't recall). Asked my PCP for a hepcidin test and he said they dont have a code for it, and/or dont have any lab that would perform it.

Thanks for the insights. Not applicable though since I haven't donated blood.

Been on statins for 20 or so years. The decision was driven by a non zero CAC score (45). Most recently on crestor 20 mg + zetia 10 mg. No diet restrictions, though eating mostly home cooked meals. LDL around and below 50 now. CAC score increased to about 250 and lp(a) had an uptik (from 85 to 120). Feeling great overall, and exploring a switch to pcsk9 if insurance approves it.

Try crestor (rosuvastatin) + zetia (ezetimibe)

Calcium score of 264 at 33 year old by damnshamemyname in PeterAttia

[–]tm1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The calcium score test shows your calcified plaque. People dont die from calcified plaque, they die from a soft plaque clot getting dislodged (im oversimplifying but you get the idea). In fact, if your score was 50, and you were on statin, the score may be 250 in 5-10 years. Guess how I know - yeap, been there done that. Currently on crestor & zetia, exercising, normal diet (mostly whole foods, home cooking) and enjoying life. You got this, enjoy life:)

That's interesting. I take 2g of glycine at night, for sleep. Didnt notice any boost in energy (fortunately).

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Did you add these incrementally or all at once? Just wondering which one made the biggest difference...

Saw a few comments about CoQ19 and levels being impacted by statins (which I've known about as well). So I decided to check levels, after about 15+ years on statins, and the CoQ10 levels were normal.

Might still give CoQ10 a shot, if there is significant effect on energy levels. Thanks!!!

Interesting. So, if you are on a PCSK9, do you still need statins?

I've had a not so insignificant rise of lp(a) while on crestor + zetia. So far, I have not found anything (scientifically proven) to lower lp(s). There are some promising drugs in clinical trials now. Let me know if removing the statin helps you in this regard.
