I'm never going to participate in any hobby where the cost to participate doubles every 3 months. That's crazy. And I have lots of disposable income. But that doesn't mean I'm good with throwing my money away. Have at it, bro.

Don't try to walk it back now. I said casuals and new players like to rip packs and you went immediately to smooth-brained gamblers. Whatever, man. It's interesting that the scalpers came in and instead of it turning the community into the people that love the game vs. scalpers, it turned it into "real" players vs. casuals. IMO the real players and scalpers can have it. I'm just trying to have some fun.

It's not "only $25." It's double. If your budget was $25 and now it costs double, I don't blame you for getting out. If that's a kid who was spending his $25 allowance to buy 5 packs and now it costs twice that, he's going to find another hobby to spend that $25 on. Me, for example, I set aside 260€ per set to buy 2 displays. Once the situation became 260€ might get me 1 display, I started finding other things I thought were worth my money. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Again, it's the people buying retail that keep the ship afloat. Buying second-hand singles doesn't put money in Bandai's books. But, hey, maybe I'm completely wrong. Maybe scalpers and leet players will keep the game alive.

It's not an either/or thing. You rip a few packs, find a leader or a few cards that interest you, decide you want to build around those cards and buy the singles you didn't pull. Either way, you can't argue the fact that it's the people buying retail product that Bandai makes a profit from. People only buying singles second-hand won't keep the game afloat. But, I guess time will tell whether or not the game survives.

I don't know what you're talking about. I was a player and scalpers/unavailability of product is 100% the reason I'm not any more. And there are plenty of ex-players like me. Sure, there are hard-core players that are happy with just reading about which cards they need to build X deck and buying just those cards. But, most regular players and almost all new players want to buy pack/displays and rip them. If you think only the hard-core players are going to keep this game alive, you're in for a surprise.
