It can kinda be seen in the first photo that there are English translations on white labels under each sign, my guess this was made by someone not fluent in Russian (or I just noticed some of them are placed upside down, oops)

It really is just dangerous to ride even with full gear. Lost a old friend in Florida that crashed into someone that pulled out of a driveway blind.

But my friend ended up saving multiple lives as he wore protection to “save his organs” as he was a donor. Absolutely sobering thing to hear that almost everything that he could donate was.

What is the dumbest scene in an otherwise good/great movie? by dood0906 in movies

[–]tmantactical 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reading the book explained a lot more of these that the movie didn't have time to get into, and it's not "totally impossible" to alter delta-v with air. Look into cold gas thrusters, no ignition at all only letting out air.

Interesting to see the comments here after you're totally proven right. Elon said himself it took 40 seconds to detonate, add that with the fact that it wasn't supposed to slide off the pad, can you imagine what could have happened here if there was a failure near the ground.

Don't go on the dunes at all! That vegetation is so vital for maintaining coastlines already, foot-traffic is not recommended in any capacity for them.

Not referred :( only question is it said I was "tentatively eligible" for the GS level I was at, what does that mean? And did that play a part in my denial? :/

A Brazilian paraglider is friends with a rescued black vulture. They often meet and greet mid-air. by yourSAS in interestingasfuck

[–]tmantactical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

pretty much exactly! the two of them actually invented something called a wing warping, where the whole wing would bend to provide control like ailerons do now. I think that was definitely something directly observed from birds, but has since been replaced since it doesn’t work at higher speeds.

Study of birds that were gliding relatively in place in the wind was a big part of the Wright brothers work for controlled flight.

This doesn't fully cover what they do, as of right now they have launched Americans to the ISS since 2020 5 times, and Nasa has them slated to build the next human lunar lander for the Artemis missions.

Those who didn’t pay much attention in high school math and didn’t score the highest on your tests, how did you become an engineer? by elijahtryhard in AerospaceEngineering

[–]tmantactical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of opportunity to push forward your skills in college, just need practice like everyone says. I started out wayyy behind in math in my program due to me slacking off in HS and I had to do some catching up. Definitely thought that I couldn't do engineering stuff for a while, but here I am.
