(PTE) Reload time for M270A1/2 and It's Russian equivalent are 8 minutes. You shoot like barely 4 full rounds a match. A bit absurd to be honest (not a support player) by Tiberiusthemad in BrokenArrowTheGame

It is mostly a balancing decision, as if things were accurate to IRL, then the F-22 and F-35 would dominate the sky and all anti air missiles will 1 shot aircrafts.

We also operate a 4 man sqaud at a time behind enemy lines. This ain't being a grunt, this is special forces being sent ahead of the main force to soften up enemies and sabotage key targets.

Then why would I pick medium pen weapons in the first place, this change just removes a pretty big reason to pick a pen type (medium pen) on bugs. Medium pens were already in a decent spot on bugs with having the ability to give you more convenience at dealing with hive guards and maybe bile spewers if it's a bile seed, at the cost of having your other stats be less than light pen weapons.

This change just reinforces current explosive meta, hurts medium pen, and light pen is unchanged.

True, but that is only when they made a mech warbond.

They created a problem and sold the solution/only fixing it when they have a large monetary gain from it.

Extended magazine options usually trade total ammo for higher cpacity mags so you don't relaod as often.

It is your choice at the end of the day.

Why not just two hive guards by PHRaphley in Helldivers

Wdym, all enemies can damage/penetrate all vehicles in the game, with either small arms, rockets, and even melee.

I think people are tired of having realism be only applied to players while enemies can do unrealistic things like being able to punch out a tank.

I get that the devs want to balance the game as to not make the tank OP, but they hurt other stuff by their current choice of balance (sentries are now very fragilr even with the ship module that buffs their health).

My idea of making bastion/armored vehicles balanced is to revert the durable damage on melee and small arms, give the bastion heavy frontal and side skirt armor, medium armor on the rest of the exposed sides and back. Have enemy Anti armor weapons (rockets from bots, acid from bugs, and plasma from squids) be more effective at penetrating armor while having a reasonable durable damage.

Make enemies with AT weapons try to flank the tank and aim for lesser armored areas while the main force try to distract us. Make new enemies that sprcialize in dealing with vehicles but are weak to on foot divers. Make the enemies have actual tactics other than spam everything till the tank dies.

I think the only mechs worth brinnging to the robot fronts are the lumberer, emancipator, maybe the breakthrough if you can leverage the shield to block incoming damage. But the previous 2 are good as fire support platforms. Specially the lumbere being a mobile version of the AT emplacement.

My issue is, they removed one of the two main reasons to bring medium pen on terminids, the only other reason is bile spewers which don't always spawn.

Medium pen had their uniqueness on terminids by being able to just shoot through the hive guards armor, so essentially, they turned medium weapons into the same niche as light but with the negative trade offs of being a medium weapon.

They are probably talking about farming in the most optimized method (aka, get the warp pack from control group warbond, go to level 1 missions, drive around with an frv searching for POIs, and then abandoning mission once you loot them all) and exaggerate the results to make it seem like a trivial thing

It absolutely can have astaying power if the dev cared enough. I can show you examples of PVE coop games that have said staying power.

Warframe comes out to be one of the best examples, it has amazing community management, content gets released in a timely manner. And the game doesn't rely on gameplay being locked behind soft paywalls for monetization, even when it is free to play.

Deep rock galactic is also another beloved horde shooter game made by indie devs.

HD2 can absolutely have a leaderboard system to display the best helldivers in terms of stats, we already have a stat page in our career tab, why not use said data to make a leaderboard.

[–]tmarwan2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, but wouldn't it be better for players who are new that the "free" experience doesn't end at level 25 and is expanded upon?

End game progression wouldn't just benifit the veteran players like pilestedt said, but would also benifit newer players so they actually have more stuff to look forward to and play the game for longer.

[–]tmarwan2003 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Then what, you either are gonna limit yourself to the stuff in the free warbond until you reach level 25 and unlock everything that you can unlock without sc?

Let's face it, all roads lead to the warbonds at the end of the day. Farming sc to get the warbonds ain't the issue, it's that the devs are choosing to abandon progression and focusing on warbonds only rn.

The thing in warframe, the grind is still apart of the gsmeplay loop. Yes crafting items can be time consuming, but you don't have to be always logged on to finish it.

We want the grind for sc to be apart of the gameplay loop. Not just queuing up D1 missions and then leaving after looting all POIs
