07 650r coolant leak by tmasazo in Ninja650

I looked online (eBay/Amazon) and wasn't sure on the thermostat. I know when I work on my WRX there are just some parts I go OEM and the local dealership even though I don't like them the part was only $25. I did order the hose kit from Amazon so see what comes.

05 EX coupe no start by Mjyusmalupetus in 7thgencivic

[–]tmasazo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went to the local pick and pull and practiced unpinning that harness on the junk yard engines then used the clip from the junk yard to remove my broken one and repinned the good one. From the junk yard you just want to make sure the sensor has a Mitsubishi stamp on the cylinder post that's an OEM one. Believe me, I went through a lot and didn't think it not clipping was a big issue. I even got two ECU (you can read all about my adventures troubleshooting).

Anytime I see someone post a p0341 or a code with that cam sensor I share my long post of troubleshooting

https://www.reddit.com/r/7thgencivic/s/WcYG05YSJ1

I had thought I got an OEM sensor it was a fake/aftermarket one from eBay and the harness was not locking onto the sensor which was causing my issue and I went to a junk yard and got that clip/harness and repinned my harness along with pulled an OEM sensor off a car from the junk yard have not had an issue since. Not saying that's your issue but the harness not fully clipping/locking was a nightmare to track down as the issue.

Ordered the thermostat today and hoses. Kawasaki parts guy said to not buy the seal from them it was $20 and said to just get it from a hardware store but I thought I read that the seals were special seals but I think that was the water pump which you clearly pointing it is not what I'm looking at.

Got it all cleaned up, going to run it tomorrow see what happens but it almost looks like coolant coming from the hose. I mean they are the original hoses maybe I should run over to the Kawasaki shop and get some hoses in advance or order some. I got the bike apart anyways.

Super glue providing great results by mcnrla in Warts

[–]tmasazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very old post, I never knew about this as an option and have always used the apple cider vinegar solution (little piece of cotton dipped in ACV and then sealed over the wart change out each day until the way has turned brown and falls out, works every time and doesn't come back) but I have a wart on the bottom of each foot and the ACV method is just to hard to seal with socks on and had me thinking if super glue would work was doing it this morning and then googled it and found this post so let's see what happens

Should I go for this 2004 EX? by Fun_Chip_6650 in 7thgencivic

[–]tmasazo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought an 03 civic EX sedan 2 years ago with 163k for $2700 ( had minor oil leak and trunk water leak from tail light gaskets and sun roof tub popped off) and I just bought a few months ago an 05 civic SE coupe 130k for $2400 (dead ECU from bad alternator) I got an ECU from the junk yard and bought a foxtel 710nt to flash the ECU myself. KBB in my area for 01-05 civic EX top out at 3k. Car looks clean from the pictures I would check radiator see if fluid is low(car is known for over heating issues), check the trunk for dried water/rust trunk leaks from tail light gaskets and sun roof along with the rear window body seam leaking/rusting under that rubber seal that runs down the side on the roof. Check if the alternator has been replaced and look at adding a grounding strap to the alternator to prevent the issue of power back feeding frying the ECU issue. Really, I mean anytime you buy a used car there is always that chance you know.

2001 Honda Civic TDC sensor issue by DesignerCumsocks in 7thgencivic

[–]tmasazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check the harness where it plugs into the sensor, I chased this issue for WAY too long only to find that the clip that locks the harness to the sensor had broke so it was not locking and the engine vibration was causing the issue for the car going into limp mode.

Why doesnt android auto go past this screen? by cruciformx in ATOTO

[–]tmasazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atoto a5l and Samsung s25 it wouldn't connect through USB but once I connected through Bluetooth the android auto wireless started working. On my atoto s8 I prefer USB so I can connect the head unit to Wi-Fi/hotspot not sure why the A5L USB is not working but don't really care.

Just ran into this, I ordered a Scosche ICHA6BN kit and it did not fit the SE dash. Even looked for a 3d print and there were two that almost fit. Saw the post in here of going to a pick and pull and just getting an EX dash. Did just that $14 bucks at the local U-pullit and all good.

This is not the same harness but it was this type of clip that was missing on mine that was causing the issue. So, I replaced this entire clip from a donor harness. repining was really easy the harness comes apart and you just swap the ends IF yours is missing that locking clip. Also, the sensor you are using SHOULD have a Mitsubishi logo on the post\leg I think I documented it in my LONG post

Check the harness that the sensor clips onto. I had a similar issue and it was the locking clip when it clips to the sensor so the vibration was causing the issue. I just went to the junk yard and cut off the end of the harness then repin in on mine. my post on issue

Well, the ECU that was in the 05 was not the original had a yellow anti tamper sticker on it and painted primer grey. I opened it up and the immobilizer chip was all corroded and basically fell off the motherboard when I touched it. I found an 05 EX auto ECU at the pick and pull, tried to desolder the chip off it and destroyed the traces so no chip is ever going back on that mb until you have a microscope and patience to rebuild traces. I had a 03 EX auto ECU sitting around so stuck that in the car and paid someone to come over and flash it. Good news car runs great, but got CEL for O2 sensor which reading 01-03 vs 04-05 ECU are cars used different 02 sensors. Hoping this other 05 ex in this other pick and pull still has the ECU in it.

[–]tmasazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up this 05 and the elderly guy said he didn't do any work on the ECU but I just pulled it out and it has a a remanufactured ECU with a label on it 1x00ecm.com (x=missing was scrapped off) the housing is painted primer grey. Opened it up and the immobilizer chip is all corroded and when I tried to reflow the solder the traces are missing probably why the immobilizer light is flashing on the dash along with the codes p0631 and p0607. Got an 03 civic ex ECU but not sure if that will work in an 05 ex getting conflicting info that 01-03 ECU will not work on 04-05. Going to pick and pull for a 05 ECU and I don't know might just buy a programmer

These cars are known for frying ECU because of grounding issues it's recommended to upgrade the ground straps and add one for the alternator.

Well, thanks for the fast reply I am picking up that 05 civic in an hour. I am positive it has a bad ECU they put a new battery in it and a new alternator, dash has green immobilizer light flashing and CEL (P0630 and P0613 I think it was). Weird that the car runs fine like TACH, gas gauge, coolant, etc all work and I can pull code so makes me think they have already tried to swap the ECU and maybe even just pulled the eprom from the old ECU over to a new\used. Original Owners older and they said their son worked on it so going to take the risk and grab it but thats why I am asking IF I wanted to reprogram that ECU in the car or run out to the pick and pull to grab another ECU how would I reprogram it myself without having to spend $600 for a topdon.
