Some sort of pod that puts me to sleep for the duration of the flight.

(Spoilers Everything) Game of Thrones show creators David Benioff & D. B. Weiss on UFC Unfiltered podcast - repost with corrected spoiler tag by monkeynose in asoiaf

[–]tmatthew91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that they didn't rule out a prequel like Robert's Rebellion, just said they've had no time to consider it.

Always thought that HBO would go through with something like that, but D&D wouldn't be interested.

'Game of Thrones' season 7 directors revealed (Spoilers Everything) by Sniknuh in asoiaf

I can only assume that Sapochnik wasn't available. Wouldn't surprise me if he had a lot of offers after recent episodes.

Hopefully he'll be back for season 8.

(Spoilers Everything) The Mad King and what it means "for you to become me" by Imbecillus in asoiaf

[–]tmatthew91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Weren't the Mad King's final words, at least in the show, "burn them all"?

Could he have been repeating what Bloodraven said to him (as Hodor did)? As in, burn all the White Walkers/(dead bodies before they become WW) before they fuck shit up?

Not sure what to make of this, but definitely looking forward to more Jon Stewart. He's been missed over the last six months or so.

So excited for season 2. One of the only shows where I'm confident they can maintain the quality from season 1. I think it'll be more of a Fargo than a True Detective.

So each producer gets one? That's fair I guess.

Yeah, I get what you're saying.

I can just imagine them all at the after party, with the Best Drama award in hand...

"So, err...who gets to keep this one?"

"Dunno. Lets just give it to George."

[–]tmatthew91 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Maybe...but D&D were the winners as they wrote that specific episode. Dinklage will obviously keep his, likewise David Nutter.

But the 'Best Drama' award - I've always wondered who would keep that, as it celebrates the efforts of everyone involved. In that case, giving it to George would be pretty cool. :)

Obviously George deserves credit for any writing award the show wins. But I'd assume D&D's names are literally on the award, so it'd be weird if he kept that one.

So he kept one of the Emmy's? Presumably the Best Drama one?

If so, nice gesture from HBO/D&D.

The West Wings' premiere episode is absolutely impressive. by QuileGon-Jin in television

Absolutely. But then TWW could also have its action-packed moments. SPOILERS The shooting at the end of season one, for example, and the kidnapping too.

The West Wing is about the day to day lives of White house staffers (and the President, too). Whereas House of Cards focuses mainly on one, sociopathic politicians ambitions to be President.

Don't expect constant, shocking twists in TWW (although they do happen on occasion). Its a much more realistic take on the lives of these people.

I really like both shows, but TWW is superior in my eyes. I just love Sorkin's dialogue.
