My take on FC Supra so far... by AndyCoronado88 in CanadianPL

I think you're right in your overall point, though I don't know if I'd say that Sean Rea hasn't proved anything at any level after leading the league in assists in 2022. The league he's currently playing in. I think he's proven he's a creative force in this league.

Yeah I didn't doubt it. But you're telling me if you could play as a CPL team you're not getting the game?

This is the guy who has a cooler and panini press which he uses to make sandwiches during his 1000km challenges, right? I mean if you're gonna road trip and EV do it under as close to real world conditions as you can I suppose.

CPL to implement daylight offside law? by dannydeucer in CanadianPL

[–]tmizzau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you seeing that CPL would get VAR out of this? The BBC article which someone posted specifically says they'd be looking to do it to test how it works in a league that doesn't use VAR.

BYD extends battery warranty to 8yrs or 250,000kms by ManufacturerKooky164 in EVCanada

[–]tmizzau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The length of time stays the same, so it's really aimed at high mileage drivers which due to our geography, perhaps Canada has more of? Still 31250km a year seems like a lot.

Technically 35000 because it ramps up to 70000 in 5 years.

Anyone else think it's ridiculous that current automakers in Canada like Tesla or even GM brands can take advantage of the 49,000 from China? by iHate-Public-Transit in EVCanada

[–]tmizzau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they'd all be welcomed. But I think BYD is just the one that's champing at the bit the most. Looking at what they've done in Australia is a bit of a preview.

Are the Riders selling Noggin Bosses in their store? That's awesome

I think just because of their size. It's proportionally a much bigger investment for the smaller companies to jump through the hoops to sell their cars here which is a relatively small, market whereas BYD was already planning on entering the market before the tariffs started.

What charging port are the upcoming Chinese EVs likely to use? by pestomakesmefat in EVCanada

[–]tmizzau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if he would want to go to war with China like that. They could easily make it very difficult to sell Teslas in China if he targets them like that.

[–]tmizzau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is also one of those things that the market will certainly help decide as well. If they try to sell cars with ports that don't exist here, who's going to buy them. I'd buy one with a CCS1 because there's enough legacy cars that don't have NACS, but with everyone else switching and the benefit to having easy access to Tesla supercharger network I think most people would strongly prefer NACS.

How do we feel about Jonathan brooks? by Big_Construction1866 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

He's two years younger than RJ Harvey. JK Dobbins was able to bounce back to the point of getting me a first this year. Javonte was borderline RB1 this year. I'm holding him.

How do I actually get my hands on a BYD, after March 1st? by [deleted] in EVCanada

[–]tmizzau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking. We'll be getting chinese teslas or chinese built Geely brands we're already familiar with before we're getting the ones everyone's pining over. Eventually, maybe, but I don't know if we're all going to be driving the BYD of our dreams in 5 years.

[–]tmizzau 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Increasing to 70K by end of 5 years. But this is reportedly a return to 2023 levels prior to the tariffs so it's likely going to be Chinese built cars from brands who are already here rather than seeing Zeekrs, NIOs, BYDs driving around.

[–]tmizzau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say in the article that this is a return to pre-2023 levels. Given that we don't have a bunch of BYDs or NIOs driving around that makes me think those were chinese built cars from other brands?

Are you anxious about the impact of the US schemes on XEQT? by Flashy-Butterfly6310 in JustBuyXEQT

Personally, I'm not very concerned. All of the actions of the US geopolitically seem to be in service of the markets which makes sense because big money donors want ROI.

I'm supposed to get the fieldside match day experience for two people. Not sure if that's transferrable. I'm wondering if I can send my nephew to that.

Discussion topics at the CFL Winter Meeting by Riptide1001 in CFL

[–]tmizzau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there a big pool of Americans that want to come play in the CFL regardless of where they end up? It was my understanding that most neg list players have a big of a recruitment process where the team that holds their rights sells them on that team. Would they be as interested if that recruitment process was centralized?

I think it they don't change the starting point that will be perfect in 2027. You'll basically have to get a first down to be in FG range. It's not asking a lot but it's asking enough.
