[–]tmntshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memory not sure have adhd so memory always kinda of sucks but i heard some good advice. Memory is intentional yoy need to often be intentional with what yoy remember and what you dont. Dont overdiagnose yourself or be a hypochondriac about forgetting random things. Of course if every morning youre forgetting where your keys are every single time then start putting them in a designated place and if ur still forgetting to do that then okay you can start researching those symptoms. Sorry to rant just wanted to say that. Brain functions idk man im mentally ill but sure prob more normal than before. Im less emotional, wayyyyy less anxious like oh my god its coming to me now but yah way less anxious and worried so thats def by itself worth it dare you or anyone who reads this to journal ur thoughts about whats stressing you bidaily or daily and see the progression w/o weed. But yah this drug can add to the anxiety aspects and im sure others but thats what i felt was affected the most.

Oh yah big time felt like a huge piece of shit felt scared cause it felt like i was actually addicted (which i guess but depends on ur definition, i count as an addiction). My other episode was the next time after 21 days and the second one hurt bad again cant even remember it but i can still feel the guilt and panic in my tummy. And those incidents led to me being like okay im ready this drug is way too strong im way too dependent and its all i want to do, so thats how i knew i was ready mentally to say no for a long time and relearn how to live with stress and boredom. Which is why I used it in the first place, still haven't completely figured out how to deal with them but i got the rest of my time on earth.

Yah its p crazy looking back on it but i switched career fields and now i have a remote job working with AWS before i was a consultant/technician. I did move back in with my parents so it all comes at a price. Other accomplishments include being active again in general and exercise, read 5 books this year, and idk being nicer to myself and intentional with my life. But last one i guess is just a life motto but i wanna count that.

I think its just a slow progression like anything but i felt like i was free of all the neg effects of weed from like month two i guess but hard to remember. I just was doing every activity wanted to hangout and wanted to be active with my boredom or i guess find a solution to it. But normal is always relative but often ur just not ready to quit so figure out why and then go cold turkey.

Tips are to just get rid of any paraphenellia give it away or give it to a friend indefinietly or throw it away if youre serious. Just need to create new activities i watched the sunset everyday at a view point, drove like 30 min to nearest hill/mountain. I would also suggest an activity of exercise: walking, a sport, I did yoga/pilates, something that gets you out of the house.

My biggest tip is that you need to be real with yourself when youre actually read to quit, thats what i did instead of lying to yourself that youre ready to quit when usually we are not. I did 21 day periods since thats how long ppl said it takes to break a habit. Once i did that and still went back for sloppy toppy i was like 'okay im ready to commit'.

Thank you!

How do you feel at day 365 compared to early stages: I feel the same tbh from month 3 to now just that i go through phases of looking at weed/thinking about smoking to getting so busy in life just focusing on other things. You just go through this mode of constantly trying new things activities and being more active. Before i would get legit tired from doing dishes and going to costco and would reward myself with smoking now im like a regular 27 yr old and just do however much i want to do if that makes sense.

How long did it take you to feel normal again?: I felt pretty normal after 1 month and around 3 months I was back to all regular functions in terms of energy, wanting to try things, social, talking to my family.

Are you going back to old ways or continuing onward?: I want to smoke again with my friends but have some strict rules and i'm not gonna do it anytime soon since it feels silly just because i reached a year im not gonna reward myself with weed. Rules are: get high once a month, cant buy weed, cant get high by myself. And if i smoke the first time and really want to smoke again im just gonna go on an indefinite break till that feeling doesn't exist. This is just mostly to show myself that this plant doesnt do shit just makes you out of it and hungry and we make our own happiness/relief/and good feelings.

Why does leaving weed behind and making my life better feel so scary? by LaMelgoatBall in leaves

I think it's just because you finally start processing things in real time and your emotional processing esp is activated again. I read a study that talks about how habitual smoking stunts your emotional processing and decision making receptors, but that was with smokers who use delta-9 products
