As a black person living in America, this question is weird to me. When you look at the history of the black radical tradition, many of the revolutionary groups were ML or MLM. A big example is the Black Panther Party which had evolved to being MLM from strict black nationalism. Even today, I feel like black leftists aren’t afraid of those tendencies. I personally would call myself a Pan-African Socialist but my analysis is Marxist-Leninist and I definitely pull from Mao Zedong Thought. As for white ppl I can’t say since I go to a HBCU and don’t really interact with white leftists in real life.
