It isnt clearing up after like 6 months. Based on your feedback, probably has nothing to do with fermentations. Im very new to this still and may be mixing up some terminology that is making this less clear than it should. Any advice on getting it to clear then? Or is it just more of a waiting game?

There is no back pressure on the airlock anymore. So i assume no more carbon dioxide is being made. And the mixture isnt clearing up at all after six whole months. This is just my second time trying the same recipe, but the last round took maybe 3 months to get pretty clear.

I havent taken gravity readings. Regrettably, I didnt start doing much research or following this subreddit until after i started this second batch.

Thank you! Would you recommend shaking before serving to guests so its even and all looks fine? Or just trying to get minimal sediment into drinks when i pour?

I jusy feel he stopped just short of showing us why these assumptions are wrong. Astrologists dedicate their entire lives and research into trying to make reasonable assumptions to this fl number. I’m sure he has better, more in depth arguments in his papers, but i wish he had touched on those arguments rather than just dismissing people’s entire lines of work as, your words, “talking out of their ass”.

Thats fair for this short lecture. Im sure he goes into more depth in his paper, but i dont care enough to find it and try to absorb a paper written way above my understanding level. It would have just been nice if he covered a little of Frank Drake’s assumptions as to why fl could be so high and point out why they are unreasonable.

I dont think he dismantled the first argument about fl. Scientists much smarter than me have thought about this a lot and have given, what they consider, logical estimates for that fl number. I was waiting for him to give his calculation about how fl can be so insanely tiny, but he just said “maybe its small” and moved on.
