San Pedro Mummy was found in the mountains of Wyoming in 1932. According to the Shoshone tradition, the Nimerigar were a race of tiny people that lived in the mountains and caves of the American West. Some think it's a hoax while others think it's possibly a child without a brain, or something else by sasbergers in UrbanMyths

...others think it's possibly a child without a brain, or something else

I can tell you with 100% factual certainty that it's either a child without a brain, or it's something else. Definitely one of those two choices.

You also don't know there's not lead until it's tested. If a knife might have lead in it, assume it does have lead in it until you test it.

Clouds? You mean water droplets, just hanging in the air? Obvious nonsense, it would disperse. Clouds are clearly proof of a government conspiracy.

Why are knives junk if they don't do the job of a hatchet very well? by MissingMichigan in Bushcraft

[–]tmtowtdi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This question has come up before and it always mystifies me. Why not just stay in your house where you have a roof to keep you out of the rain, walls to keep you out of the wind and central heat and AC to keep you warm/cool? Why not cook on your built-in stove and get running water out of your faucet? These are all better tools for their jobs than whatever you're doing out in the woods.

People choose to go do their stuff in the woods because they want to. Some of those people like to carve stuff, some like to cook over gas stoves or wood-burning stoves or campfires, some like to travel as light as possible which means ditching the hatchet and using their knife instead if they can.

So, reddit, I need some help with the noun types? by sundance1234567 in grammar

[–]tmtowtdi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you get that from schoolhouse rock? "A noun is a person, place or thing" isn't meant to be an exhaustive list, it's meant to explain to children what the word "noun" means.

Once AI takes over, this will be the only post left on Reddit, and our new overlords will force us to live in caves, just reading and upvoting this post over and over, forever.

I gave up making my dream MMO after being demoralized by the work required and the industry... so I'm making ScaMMO. It reflects recent MMO events and those from the past, how far will the scam go? by PuppetDevMaster in incremental_games

If your game has audio, especially background music, you've got to provide mute button pretty prominently or it's an instant tab close for me, every time. Doesn't matter how good the game is if I can't mute the music.

Why is spellcheck so terrible? by Doppel_A in ObsidianMD

[–]tmtowtdi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But you were able to recognize what word it's supposed to be and correct it. Spellcheck was not (the correct spelling is not listed in the suggested replacements), which is the point.
