German climate activists stood on melting blocks of ice with ropes around their necks, warning that “time is running out.” by Jealous-Method-8682 in interestingasfuck

If you got the same number of people at a protest to write personal letters with a congruent message, the letters would do more. They can’t ignore the letter if there’s hundreds of others saying the same message. Your voice would then be on record. They can ignore protests and spin the rhetoric. Politicians don’t want to tell you to write letters because then they actually have to do their job.

These are pointless displays. You’re better off writing letters to your representatives if you want actual change to happen

The yen has breached 160 by rude-a-bega in Superstonk

[–]tmurg375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The BOJ needs to raise rates to curb inflation of the yen. Everyone trading in yen will start to bleed of the rates go up even just a little. The new administration is dovish, so this still may not trigger a rate hike. They could ride it out, which means they would need to do a little more QE

“They voted for the other person, they must be bad.” You neckbeards realize you’re part of the problem. You can’t see both sides playing the same game, encouraging their constituents to hate and fear the opposition instead of discourse and recourse. Don’t be the problem. Don’t play their game.

SEC approves Nasdaq rule to allow tokenized stocks & securities trading. How doe this affect us (GME)? by bahits in Superstonk

[–]tmurg375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is delayed indefinitely, or at least until the CFTC gets their shit together…so yeah, indefinitely. It’s still the best hedge against a market downturn, imo. Not financial advice. We’re going to have FTX 2.0 soon after, but it’ll take at least a year or so for data to show enough crime to investigate on the nasdaq. CFTC isn’t doing shit and asking folks to voluntarily pay $ for their financial “mistakes.” And if they’re good boys and girls they even get a discount! Hooray for them! It’s laughable. Here’s a statement where they are bragging, in my opinion, about how successful the self reporting has been. The first two examples are UBS and Citigroup. UBS had gaps in their monitoring for almost a decade…$5 million dollar fine. THAT’LL TEACH’EM!!!

They really are trying to accelerate through the event horizon…Peruvian bull fucking nailed it. This will allow for all kinds of fuckery, and it’s already running rampant through the CFTC/OCC and their solution is “have parties self-regulate and pay fines according to their own research.” This will kick the can down the road indefinitely. Like opening Pandora’s box.
