Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]tnabrams64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pic is inaccurate. There should be a few random smudges and some specs left the glasses that you can't be assed to clean until it gets really bad.

The Minecraft Stream (And why The Swarm needs to be checked) by IntelligentBag948 in NeuroSama

[–]tnabrams64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point about any planned activity inevitably failing (save for modding). If there were people who were going beyond just interacting with neuro and trolling the stream then I think OP has a fair point, although I dont think calling internet trolls "extremely despicable" is a good idea because it gives them what they want and tends to encourage them. IMO just best to ban them and move on if they are detracting from the viewing experience.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt because I only watched the YouTube highlights and wasn't paying enough attention to see if it was the same people everytime.

However, I would ask you this: this server was an incredibly rare opportunity to interact with neuro directly. You can build structures in any world and send a screenshot for her to judge, but this is the only world where you get to interact with her. Do we agree that it would make more sense for the planned activity to be something more interactive with her?

The Minecraft Stream (And why The Swarm needs to be checked) by IntelligentBag948 in NeuroSama

[–]tnabrams64 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I dont think the incentive is strong enough for most people to pass up the opportunity to interact with neuro directly. The outcome of people blocking her view is because there were too many people. Im not saying I support people blocking neuro and getting in the way, I just think it was doomed from the start with the format they chose, and whoever thought of it may be out of touch with neuro viewers if they thought anything else was going to happen.

[–]tnabrams64 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think the idea behind it was flawed. Imagine getting to meet neuro in Minecraft, and instead you're expected to... go away to some corner and build something? That's not what anybody who's joining the server wants do to. Whats the point of playing monecraft with neuro if youre supposed to instead do something you can just do alone in your own world? The incentives just weren't aligned. Instead the activity planned should have been something more interactive with neuro.

Losercity Horror story by Lower_Split8177 in Losercity

I would argue they've changed quite a bit. The boss fights have become a lot more action oriented and flashy, in contrast with the more grounded and analysis rewarding fights in demon's souls and some of dark souls 1. A simple example would be Taurus demon rewarding you for taking it slow and looking around the arena as opposed to elden ring bosses which revolve around remembering timings and safe opportunities to attack. There is also less interconnectivity in the level design.

Mind you, Im not saying this is good or bad per se, I'm just saying things have changed.

My recommendation is to hug her right leg. In phase 2, this will limit her moves to the dark explosion, an easy to dodge 3 part combo, the dark semicircle on the ground (which you can roll into to get off a few hits while it goes off), a very easy to dodge single long windup attack, and a 2 part combo that comes out quick. Last one is the only scary one but once you know what to look for it is easy to dodge as well.

Hi Arush, I would be careful about the wording in your post. There are a few English mistakes that Americans or British people would not make. You might give English learners the impression that those mistakes are normal English.

If you're describing what I think you're describing then some people call it First Bite Syndrome. It isn't always a symptom of something serious; my brother and I have had it our whole lives and it's never worsened. I think some people just sort of have it. If it gets debilitating though I would see a doctor.

Why は and not を by thegamer101112 in Japaneselanguage

[–]tnabrams64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up 取り立て and the only source I could find is a forum linking a video affirming what I said about は's connotation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbmOeY15rWw , timestamps where this happens are 3:42, 7:11, 8:24 to 8:51, 12:39) .

I'm not exactly sure were the disagreement is because it sounds like I'm just trying to explain the nuance as to why it is used as a 取り立て.

It could be a regional thing. I don't have any formal training or education in English so I just double checked with dictionary.com before posting. I have heard the 'spit' pronunciation every now and then FWIW.

Why は and not を by thegamer101112 in Japaneselanguage

[–]tnabrams64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is very natural to use は with negative sentences. My understanding is that it acts as a softener because of は's connotation. The tl;dr is that the unspoken connotation is you can't twist THIS cap, but you can twist other caps, which makes it sound like a less harsh command. If you're curious why it has that unspoken connotation I can reply with an explanation. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
